What teensy tiny things would you like to see changed in ED?

More nebula being modelled on the real things (California and Elephant's Trunk in particular)

Thor's Helmet being put where it is supposed to be (3000 Parsecs, not 3000 Light-years)

Star sausages being turned into Star Clusters

The Milky way being more milky and less orange

SMAC being allowed to be Alliance again

SMAC people not being dressed like they play for Bradford City

Black Holes being visually awesome and highly dangerous

A large stone statue of Michael Brooks at Brooks Vista

Agricultural stations having violet light in them, not green

The side bar not spring back to top, in the system map, whenever you mouse over a body

Removal of the planet brightening thing when approaching the dark sides

It's more pronounced the higher your FOV is set.

You can alter your field of vision?!! I am an idiot, I did not know!

But if you can alter your FOV, like a wide-angle zoom on a camera, then the distortion is entirely appropriate and a necessary consequence to balance this advantage, surely? A consequence modelled on real life...

Tools to verify the precise loadout & stats of your own ship & any others you encounter, even if it's just in the journal & not immediately available in-game.

This could help PvP leagues to verify approved & non-approved builds according to their own agreed rules of engagement.

I'd like a visual indicator (versus the current audio only) when performing a detailed surface scan (*level 2?) if I already have surface scan from my discovery scanner (*level 3?)

* I may have the levels reversed for discovery scanner surface scan results versus detailed surface scanner results

I'd like to see the inane one-line comments from viewers at the right hand side of the screen of Elite Livestreams replaced with a hype meter. Would serve the same purpose.

You've got one. The heading indicator (the one you'd use to find your targeted POI) points to your landing pad as soon as you are through the slot. :)

Yeah but it doesn't change until you are thru the slot, by which time you are already passing any pads near the door. It would be nice if ONLY your pad lit up, having them all light up really serves no purpose whatsoever.

Some sort of 'not for sale lock' I can set on my ships to make them unsellable. When moving them from shipyard to shipyard it seems all too easy to accidentally select 'sell remotely' instead of 'transfer here'.

"What teensy tiny things would you like to see changed in ED?" - Keeping it small, I'd go with 90% of it. Ships and docking are great, rest? Meh! ;)

Finding gems while in the SRV mining that you could sell. I love treasure hunting, but after Engineering all my ships up to the max, I no longer have any need to use the SRV to collect anything anymore and that's one of the fun things of the game is using the SRV.

So have the possibility of rare gems you could sell for a profit making SRV mining fun.

2nd thing would be to have a filter set for data scans that you only can collect what you have selected. Rather than having to max out at 500 data, purge all the crap you don't need and repeat. Here you only get what you want and not the garbage you don't.

3rd is to have limpets bound to the ship not the player. So when I swap out my mining ship for something else, I don't have to sell all the stupid limpets I haven't used and then re-buy them all over again when I go back to my mining ship, just store the stupid things with the ship...

In a way, you pretty much have this. During the 4 second count down, I always drop the throttle to zero (or during the jump itself). You come out of the tunnel at 30k/ps so you never face-plant yourself into the star.

Yes, I know - I mention throttling down in hyperspace in my post :D. As an explorer (at the moment), it is annoying to have to do that every single time I jump. It's almost as if the ship wants you to crash ;)

Here's another feature off the top of my head that I'd really like to see implemented...

Being primarily an explorer in the game, I'd really like it if traveling toward another stellar system in supercruise reduced the jump range and fuel consumption needed to reach it accordingly.

This would open up more possibilities and ways of going about exploring and getting to interesting and hard to reach systems, at least for those willing to invest the time needed in doing so.

I mean, other than just being able to supercuise all the way there, of course. Though I could see that causing issues with permit locked systems and the like.

Cheers. :)

Change cockpit lights to a low red and darken the HUD when switching to silent running.

YES! Absolutely. That'd be awesome. The game is already outstanding, but details like these would be the polish.

Generally, a bit more reactive (control-) lights to events.

1. Ability to add waypoints in system so you can just plan your route around system and scan planets you want.

2. OMG imagine having orrery map, that would make travelling salesman problem way easier than it is now.

3. Turn off speed lines and vector indicator lines, can we please have this disabled? No HUD but those are still visible. :(

+1 from me as well. Would feel like those submarine movies when everyone is at their stations on high alert not making a sound. [yesnod]

Mine suggestion some may say is trivial, but for the love of FDev, can they add the bounty amount to the main screen with all the other info already there on the targeted ship. I tend to ignore low value bounties and find myself continually flicking screens to check on the bounty amount. Come on, the info is already there, just move it to a more appropriate screen location :D
