What teensy tiny things would you like to see changed in ED?

Show the factions that are fighting in a CZ. This should be in the news bulletins in the system, who is fighting where. Plus it should display when scanning a CZ.

There is one more tiny thing....
that comes to my mind. I call it hopcount.
When a route is active and a new jump target is selected, State the left count of hops in the Panel.

Just saw this

Avatar/char animations to match HOTAS mapping in cockpit.

But then map left / right handed Avatar too.

On the letterbox size, I'd prefer an approach where really large ships couldn't land in stations or outposts or planets, but could have shuttles for doing so, including transferring cargo etc.

Agree re the OCD.

No idea what you mean re the Fish Eye Lens thing.

I'll go and make a cup of tea...

If you center an object on the screen then move your view away from it, it gets BIGGER and slightly distorted the closer it gets to the edge of the screen. That's the fisheye effect.

Surely that's just a normal eye effect? I thought fish-eye was for really pronounced distortions.

I've never noticed it, but I will now certainly look for what you describe - dreading that it will ruin the game for me. Oh well - I shouldn't have asked!

Is this possibly because they need the visuals to work for VR too? A natural distortion would probably be necessary there.

Time to make a cup of tea.

- SLOW DOWN message to be reworded to something less confusing.
I like this idea. Should be "Slow down please or you'll overshoot...oh, sorry, now you must do the loop of shame. Next time, don't be in such a hurry." :)

- Raise the height a little bit so you don't hit when returning in my SRV to my Asp. :p
Yes, yes, yes, yes. This please. The ship NEVER lands on flat areas. Always 5 Km away and always over bumps that make me have to re-dismiss and recall. Would be nice to pick a spot and say "somewhere in this area, please."

- More music selections/variety (& perhaps a basic built-in mp3/stream player?).
Excellent idea. When exploring I turn the SC music off anyway and use a selected group of MP3's but having this as an in-game option would be nice.

- Clipping to be removed from ships in Camera mode (I want to get up close!).
Fully agree and I know we'd all like to get down to the nuts and bolts in some cases for great screen shots. Me too, please!

- Coordinate plotting/bookmarking on the surface of a planet.
Yes, yes, yes. I think everyone has been begging for something like this. Me too.

- More radio chatter/activity away from stations.
Hearing a distress call would be cool. "Mayday! Mayday! Under attack! Right in front of you. No, just to your left, Oh crap, you just went right past me...boom!"

- Ability to save custom camera views between sessions.
Also a me too. I am constantly having to reset it every time a new instance is hit.

- Ability for HoloMe to smile :)
Or look angry ("They killed Pete!!! ARRRRRRG!"). Even that Mona Lisa slight grin would be nice, though.

- Dark side of planets to be darker
Agree. I don't mind a smidgen of light but night should be night. HOWEVER, if they're going to do that, FD, please buff those headlights.

- More misty/foggy places to get lost in.
This! Me like.

- Ability to crash into a planet etc from SC if I am going too fast.
Fully agree. Dangerous flying should be dangerous. The only problem is that after the first two commanders face-plant themselves into a planet at 2c, much salt will get it nurfed.

One of the best lists. Repped. [up]

It's more pronounced the higher your FOV is set.

When picking a mission or accessing from the transactions tab and opening the galaxy map autoselect the destination on the galaxy map so I can just route plan, rather than have to manually enter the system name. I play on a TV in the main lounge so I have to grab the keyboard and note down the system name.

I think this is a pc bug as it works properly on Xbox.

It works fine on PC too, as I do this all the time (go to galaxy map from mission screen, destination is already set to next mission waypoint). However, if you have a filter set on the galaxy map, and the destination is hidden by that filter, then you can't select it. I wonder if this is the actual issue that kilvenny is having?

Can i have a marker indicating where my landing pad is exactly when my docking access is granted? SO i dont have to wait at the mail slot to find landing pad 07. Or search around a planet base for landing pad 12. If every landing pad is lit up anyways, can my designated landing pad be a distinct color so i know exactly where to go? Then i will ditch my docking computer..

You've got one. The heading indicator (the one you'd use to find your targeted POI) points to your landing pad as soon as you are through the slot. :)

Some hints on calculation positon of Landing Pad outside the station.
In reality its a simple thing. Make sure green light is on your right when entering the slot.
Pad 1 is nearest to the slot right down.
Numbering of slots is Fore to Back and Clockwise.
Means Pad 7 is supposed to be half right and assumed to be quite far from slot.
Works for all Starports.

Outposts and Surface stations are different. Only think to have in mind their numbering is also clockwise.
But do not know where the origin point is.

Check the forum for some existing graphics where the pads are.

Hire CMDR Wotherspoon to completely replace Galnet News, and as suggested, hide the superfluous PP/BGS/Traffic stuff elsewhere.

:D

In the real world, i have about thousand bookmarks into maps application on my phone. And here i can't make more than 100+ bookmarks! It's incredible stupid! 100+ bookmarks for 400ККК stars in the galaxy, Carl!

Dear god, what part of "teensy tiny" do people not understand? There are some massive changes in this thread.

However, here's mine (I'll be starting my own thread on this soon, as it's *really* getting on my nerves)....

Enough with the farking ridiculous ATC instructions, already!!!

I mean, fer fawks sake... 'descend to Flight Level 300', when you're about to touch down on the pad

Flight Level 300 means 30,000 feet.

It was particularly galling as I completely misjudged my planetary approach just now, and as I bounced along the ground scraping off my shields, the stupid muppet in ATC told me to descend to FL300.

Just delete the farking message from the list, you air traffic ignoramuses.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
