News Inflated Mission Rewards - Fix on the way and important information

I agree that the quadrillion mission rewards are wrong (of course).
But some other missions have only lightly better payouts and I found those actually fair, because those missions also took incredibly long and you could only really profit from them if you already had a high-end ship and faction reputation. Also without that the game would get so incredibly grindy, I would probably stop playing it again.

The entire thing feels like the concluding sentence of The Simple Fool's Guide To Kill Your Own Game's Player Base ...

This.
Perhaps a guide to maximum payout per mission, percentage multipliers for danger, target distance, system state etc. Hey, how about including that in-game? Huh? Like, I dunno, a sub-routine?

How about, we see programmers' salaries? We could calculate exhorbitance there too.

Transport missions have been nerfed too much. I always looked for 1M+ missions but now I'd be lucky to find 500K. But OMG do you want to go to Colonia or a sight seeing adventure? An absolute glut of those missions. And no I will not go to Colonia for 15M. Please?

And those long distance super cruise missions are worth doing if they'd pay out better than just covering your hull integrity repair costs.

Colonia missions are a joke, I took a 1.5m cr mission for 120t of non lethal weapons haul to the next system, then they asked to change the delivery destination to Jaques for a whopping bonus of 150k

Seriously? lol

I agree. I was getting some - what I thought - reasonable payouts for POW passenger missions that are short hops between systems but medium hauls insystem 50,000 to 70,000 ls. I thought 1 - 3 million for missions that take 15-30 minutes was OK. After all, I can trade Imp Slaves easier for 3 million every 5-10 minutes. Now as stated above, they are all overly nerfed.

Oh well, typical fix one thing and break something else.

isn't the Damage already done by those who have gained alot from these bugs/exploits? will there be a fix for those who have partaken of this? i'm glad Frontier is fixing bugs and all that and making the game nice and balanced and Fair.. worse thing in a game is unfair play... so Fair Play = Awesome Play :)

anyhow, beware of the Thargoids my babies are still hungry :) GL commanders!

oh PS..... i never seen any missions higher then 25 Million for me, even in allied territory.. and they were passenger missions and to about 25000 or more Ly's away... so I'm guessing that is normal pre patch? will that drop after the patch today?

It is pretty bad. I am making WAY less than in 2.3. Was 2.3 supoposed to be broken also?

Not intentionally but definitely. As was 2.2.

I wish Frontier was this quick to respond to actual bugs as they are to side effects of them blind poking the mission generator with a stick.

wow..... Passenger Missions are Overly Nerfed!... 20 Mill doesn't show up anymore or 25 Mill like i had before... everything has been Nerfed so badly that.. your onl farming Rep/Influence now... and as for those people that saw like Billions of payouts... I swear they must be using exploits??? or some cheats? or edited there images? or this was for certainty real?

Passenger missions should be worth there 20-25 Mill for 20000 Ly missions at least... 1 Mill for closer, like it is now is acceptable... guess i gotta hope i dont fly same path to the systems i already collected discovery data for...

One of the diplomats encountered a mission today for 33 Paladium to Colonia... for about 300K. No joke.

You'd be better off mining Paladium, and sell it locally :D

For those who are willfully ignoring the obvious:

After 2.4 dropped, some missions (extremely rare) were apparently paying out ludicrous amounts of credits. As with the Quince gold mine, humans will be humans, and some willfully sought out said missions, to cash in on them. It's obvious that these missions would be patched out, and the commanders who complain are more than likely the selfsame opportunists who have cashed on at least one of them (note, I say more than likely here, not certain, so there is no malice here..).

Ultimately Elite is about the journey. Having missions paying even 20 million credits would greatly reduce the time it would take any given commander to obtain an A-rated top tier ship. When that happens, said commander hasn't really got much impotus to carry on playing.

This means less potential micro transactions, which ultimately means a loss of income for FDev.

Hence the patch.

This. Entirely. Anytime I've looked at social media over the past few days, I've been shaking my head in disbelief at the argument "oh, if it appears on the mission board it must be working as the Devs intended and therefore not a bug". Surely it is in the game's interest for the Devs to be constantly on top of rewards and game balance? If Frontier want to take the 80 million or so I made back before I thought 'nuts to this, this is silly' I'm happy with that.

I love how quickly they fix things that make us money, but they allow utter incompetency when patching literally anything else.

3200 missiles to kill a thargoid? That's fine.
Engineer permits locked by bugs? That's fine.
Unbalanced PvP with giga shields? That's fine.
Beige planets and glitched out textures? That's fine.
Skimmers killing people on planets? That took months to patch.

But god forbid people make money to counter the loss of it at the hands of the complete complacency of the dev team when it comes to actually making the game better. That'll never do.

ROTFL That first one.... Nope. No problem here.

Not intentionally but definitely. As was 2.2.

It does give you the feeling of them going "Welp, let's see if this works!"
