An they given you there plan yesterday, the store is such a success, PS4, Xbox sales are good enough, that Frontier can afford to finance another of development without selling DLC.

I'm pretty sure there a high possibility that they will sell more more DLCs in the future. Just for now the level of development can be funded by the store.

Just few days ago Zac said space legs is something they want to do, but they have other priorities rounded up first - as core updates. Just one month ago CM Dale give post about space legs being far off, and atmosphere planets being more closer than hat.

After problematic Horizons sale they won't give you expansion roll out plan for next 4 years. It is huge timeframe for company and it won't happen.

If you think you want a refund - go for it. It seems FD can't give you what you want at this point.

Quite sure Frontier are not going to forget the people that got them here in the first place, as that is "Development Suicide" and FD are not that stupid, But;

The complaining is a joke. I as well paid more than the average Elite player (LTP holder), do I care... Not one bit!

Value for my money... hmm let me see, Have to grab calculator, since its very early morning for me, brain isn't active yet, my Co-Pilot (Daughter) had me up most the night.

Since alpha I have amassed a good 4000 hours in game, which works out around 25 cents an hour plus all the store goodies I have purchased as well. Quite sure I have got my moneys worth regardless of what happens for future content after 2018's free (for Horizons owners/LFP owners). But I am quite sure there will be features added after that will most likely be for LTP or bought as micro transactions (For non LTP holders) since Season passes are no more.

Amazes me to see such demand of entitlement on Elite forums, I usually see that on another space games forums, but alas its made its way here. If you feel you have been ripped off, email Frontier and ask for you refund then (And good luck with that), but quite sure your value for money has been gained if your a KS Backer, Alpha/Beta backer and most definitely if you bought it for 20 bucks on sale since going live.

These posts sound like my children demanding more ice cream after dinner, best ask them how that works out heh!

Yes, same as the pre-order for Horizons if you had the base game already, if I remember correctly, but I'm pretty sure.

I had the base game already as well, so I got the LEP for I think 10 or 15 USD off, bringing it down to 180 USD for the LEP during that offer in the summer of 2015. So total for the base games and future expansions/seasons type DLC I've paid about 240 USD so far.

I bought the same package, existing base game owner so I paid £120 (GBP) for the LEP, a £10 discount. I got the Black Friday paint pack & Cobra MkIV but I think these were Horizons pre-order bonuses, and a gold AspX paintjob. IIRC the paint jobs were some sort of compensation for something that didn't happen.

Just want to say I really dislike comments like this.

At the end of the day money was paid, people are perfectly free and justified in feeling entitled to something.

While it may be a none issue for you or me, if other folk feel misled by how it was implied it would pan out when Frontier were asking for £120 at LEP purchase time, well I can understand that. And as such people should be free to express that without feeling they are somehow at fault here or being likened to your children.

The golden Asp was part of something else, I think. I'm pretty sure I don't have it, though not positive offhand, since I don't use an Asp.

Yes, exactly. I don't feel cheated at all, at least not yet, assuming Frontier has future expansions or the like in the works for further down the line. Two more expansions worth 60 USD and I would have gotten my money's worth, proportionally with everyone else who buys them at the full asking price. Anything beyond that would just be icing on the cake, as it were, though still fair in my mind for the early payment and "investment" in Elite's future and of course being within the terms of the purchase.

There's a clear difference between acting entitled and actually being entitled for something you've already purchased.

Let's try and keep this civil and friendly here.

Some reassurances from Frontier would also go a long way for some, I think. Something as simple as: "Yes, we plan to have paid for content in the future which the LEP owners will receive at no additional cost."

Agreed. I wouldn't expect anymore than any future downloads. I mean, it would be nice to have access to the Cobra Mk IV, for example, but I certainly wouldn't expect it. But, I don't feel like I'd be sticking my neck out either. I like the game, so it wouldn't really be taking a chance for me if LEPs were offered again.

LEP wouldn't make me feel "obligated" to play. I'd play out of sheer curiosity of what new stuff got added. For what I've paid (base game +Horizons) I've got my money's worth and then some. And as I said, the players that did get the LEP, and the backers, should get some exclusives for sticking their necks and checks out. They should get the Cobra, paint jobs, and nameplates, etc. The game wouldn't be here for the rest of us, had it not been for them. Or, it might be a very different game than it is today, if not for them.

Just gotta point out one thing, a lifetime pass in any game is in effect an early investor 'bet'. If it comes off, you're in gravy, but its possible to lose out completely in the situation of early failure. Let me give you some background. When lifetime account was announced for Lord of the Rings Online (Lotro) I did think about it, but figured I'd make my money back if it lasted 18months. (This is back when everything had monthly fees, which does make the calculation easier) I was pretty sure I'd be playing it for longer, so I got it. although lotro went f2p about 4 years ago I have made my money back many times over, so much so that some later players are getting salty about so called lifetimer leeches.

Conversely, Star Trek Online had lifetime at the start, and it failed pretty bad and went f2p very quickly. I don't play it so cannot say, but I suspect a lifetimer there did NOT get value for money. Its a risk, and it has it's rewards, but there are no guarantees. You gotta take the long view. If ED is still going in 10 years time (and I see no reason it wont), I don't doubt that lifetime will have been quite valuable for those that bought it.

I understand the OP's desire for more paid content...but there is one reason for not buying the LEP...I wanted to maintain a feeling that I could not pay for something that would have made the game a bad deal for me. Basically, keeping some input by the power of the purse...for what little that amounted to on an individual purchase.

I have bought some content off the store to put my money where my mouth is...and it makes the game a little more 'extra'....

I agree with the sentiment your expressing. I was just amused that you chose a biblical parable to express that sentiment.
Nobody can say for sure that anyone's been short changed here as we don't have enough info to go on.
Getting a years worth of updates is a good thing. I fully expect there to be paid stuff down the line.
As an example it's been said by FDEV that 'space legs would be a while other game on top of what we have already' (words to that effect at least). If the LEPers got that as part of what they've paid I don't have any issue as that's what they paid for.
Argh! Talking of LEPers maybe they need to balm in the form of a few words from his holiness Braben!

Poor analogy. This isn't about jealousy though or anything, at least for me. I'm glad that Beyond Horizons is coming at no extra charge for Horizons owners. This is about expectations of delivery of what we were actually expecting at the point of sale, not more than that.

I suppose in this analogy, it would actually be more apt to call Frontier the field works, though of course neither is very fitting.
