Decrease jump cartoon time

We can modify FSD to increase range. Why we cant modify FSD to faster jumps? Its boring to watch every time the same picture which does not depend on modifications in any way.

Please, give me an engineer, that can increase jump speed from 1 jump per minute to 5-6 jumps per minute. Even with some penalty to jump range ...

The destination system is being generated during the jump, that's the reason why it takes the time it takes.

Yeah...the whole sequence, if I understand correctly, is a loading screen. Which is why you can get stuck in the jump if your destination has trouble loading. There is no arbitrary timer here that an engineer could reduce.

Its not true. If "jump cartoon time" = "loading screen time" or "generating screen time", than jump to some systems (with many stars/planets/objects) should take much more time that others (where one star for example). Or on different computers jump should take different amount of time.

now all jumps are equal.

It has three elements to the jump animation. The first is nothing more than a special effect created based on the jump distance from the source star to the destination star. This is fractional based on distances above 30 LY.

The second is that the system is being generated graphically based on the statistical information provided by the centralized server to your PC (as all graphics are held locally from what I'm seeing of the size of this game).

The third part has to do with the way load balancing is performed by your PC and the clients that you're connecting to within a cluster of PCs in the "area" that you're connected to. If there is a matchmaking issue (and they can happen during heavy peak times), you'll most likely recognize there's a problem when the animation seems to be hanging closer to re-entry into normal space.

I can tell you right now that not all jumps are equal. I have gotten into long jumps, and I know it happens more frequently when my connection is having issues.

If all jumps are equal for you then you have a very good connection to the network. That's usually the bottleneck that makes some jumps take longer at certain times of the day.

Isn't there also a fourth element? If it is an untouched system, doesn't Stellar Forge need to generate it for the first time?

EDIT: Though, I guess stellar forge generates it every time, even if visited.

In any way, i dont believe, that this amount of time cannot be decreased. Turn off animation, move my ship to more fast servers, block this mode only for solo, etc.

Correct on your edit. Visited/Unexplored, this information is held in a text file on the server for your pilot. When you enter the system the information your commander has been there is contacted.. This is also a fractional time as it's being held in flat file (text) format which is added to your log for the day. 156 KB is nothing when you're faster than xDSL speeds.

It can't be blocked... Open, Private and Solo contact the same Servers for the information. Solo/Private players simply have a flag to prevent them from interacting with other players in the universe. What they (Solo/Private Players) do in their environment can affect the way things occur within the universe. If there are peer problems with their connection to the cluster -- like open users -- they will still have Matchmaking Errors that disconnect them from the game.

It's the way this game operates.

All I can suggest is enjoy the down time. Take a drink. Munch on a snack.

Sure, there's a way to do it. It involves preloading all nearby star systems while you're in the current one. That way when you jump, they're already loaded and can connect in about as quickly as dropping from supercruise. It could be done. But I don't think you'd like what it would do to the game's minimum system requirements.

Jump time changes drastically with computer spec, and network traffic.

My main PC, in Solo, will do a jump in less than 15 seconds.

My potato laptop, in Solo, will do a jump in around a minute.

My PC in Open can take anything from 15 seconds to infinity. Lol

It's most definitely a loading screen. If you don't want to look at it, just look around your cockpit for a few seconds, or get up and have a stretch. Lol

I'd accept a longer jump time if we could get ships generated in instance BEFORE I arrive so it doesn't feel the world springs into existence for my benefit...
