New Aegis station -Pleiades

Does it do anything interesting & new? Or is it just a differently-skinned station?

It is part of the 20 or so Aegis stations being built out here. I can only assume they will be cannon fodder for those Thargoid strikes we saw in the trailer.

@Henoch - Danke, definitely check out Relay Station PSJ-17, it is a in orbit around the same planet. You would be better off dropping out of SC slightly early and viewing from a distance, the relay station is heavily defended.

Quite certain the asteroid bases 'Sisters refuge' is inside the planets rings. The station also has a shipyard, a little way out of Pleiades, back towards the bubble. A good refuelling stop for anyone without a scoop.

@Tadeus72 - It is strange, the economy is industrial, the interior is tourism.

Its a fantastic system. Pristine rings + all RES types for miners and BHers, great vistas, the theocracy loves buying precious metals, its calm and quiet and you're in the pleiades in a few jumps. Shame I got exiled there following an... incident. :p

It's funny how the Pleiades have become a true 2nd bubble full of players that Colonia was supposed to be. The fact it's only 15/20 minutes away from the main bubble obvously helps of course.

Well, 22k LY is just way too much for many people, you cant expect people to casually check interesting stuff out and go back to Colonia a few times per year. So Colonia is for people with second accounts, no interest in any bubble events or just people with stupid amounts of time.

I have a feeling Pleiades is going to burn. It's a great mini bubble though, was thinking about my first trip out here in 2014 to see the black hole. No stations or bulk freighters, no surface ports (No Belugas!) just a (Red) Nebula and beautiful scenery.

If you visit that place make sure you unlock, drop out early and head in under stealth. Multiple Elite ranked wings protecting the relay station, couldn't count how many ships, they are all hostile.

How do you drop out early without ending a couple of hundred klicks out?

Unlock the station and throttle back to 30m/s when under 1000km, your distance to target will reduce at a reasonable rate. drop out at your desired distance. The station must be unlocked, otherwise it will drop you out at the standard distance.

I've been to a few of the asteroid bases inside rings, an impressive sight.

But I do wonder... would the asteroids of a size large enough to build a base have collected or disturbed most other material in their orbit, thus actually orbiting in a ring gap?
