Why do Developers dont give a single notice or interaction on PvP Subforum?

Except they don't. When suggestions have been made regarding pushback from authorities such as being banned from docking in all legal systems or the pilots federation removing membership perks due to attacking own members or hell even the most obvious that a players fine when caught covers the same amount as the damage they caused to be paid to the insurance company (ie sensible, logical and fairly balanced punishment) it's almost universally shouted down from the PvPers who are happy to cause players 10s of 10000000 of credits but don't like the other shoe falling.
You want to play a bad guy then you should expect the game to treat you like a bad guy, warts and all

FD are partly at fault, but the fact that players can run amok consequence free does not mean they have to.... And if they want to well then expect some to not like it.

Then add in the exploiters who go unpunished and that just adds the vinegar to the salt. Good for crisps, not for videogames.

Big difference here is you want the game to "punish" the criminal, where I (and probably 90's kid) want the the game to give players the tools to play the law and punish the criminal.

Also, a lot of the these "sensible, logical and fairly balanced punishments" are anything but sensible, logical and balanced. They are ways to plain get rid of criminal player behavior against other players.

In my mind, it would be sensible for the Pilots Federation to give the boot to pilots who are running around shieldless and getting killed, because they are embarrassing the organization.

Its our own private corner to get ignored in.

Unless you make a thread about a certain something.

I feel favorites are played.

Anyway. I'm glad we have our own area. We can discuss our doings without the thread being blown to oblivion by a certain group.

you got a whole subforum. BGS gets a single thread tucked away in a little used subforum. Favouritism indeed :p

BGS is one size fits all no?

And... BGS while very interesting... And I tried my hardest is so totally not my thing. I understand what I do alters it but I don't pay attention!

no! there are different BGS playstyles (often RP related) but also there are so many different mechanics and tactics that you could fill an entire subforum with threads. That said we are probably a minority subset of the playerbase. Many groups only get interested when their faction gets inserted and often lose interest after a certain point.

Pretty much.

People choose to engage in the discord PvP

You can choose to be salty.

Ultimately salt is entirely up to the CMDR.

I'm surprised the potential salt is off putting.

For me it was the 100+ rebuys learning how to PvP

You yourself said salt was a big part of PvP - 50% to be exact. I get that you don't have to go on discord and such, but I'm just saying that the way you described PvP as a community was pretty off-putting to me. But that's fine, I'm sure many people do enjoy that sort of thing, and more power to 'em.

Definitely not wrong with the last point. I was very interested and then... Very not.

From an RP stand point I can see it but discord and Inara would be a much more powerful tool no?

Depends on the player TBH
Some guys are rarely salty.

I can't tell you where you'll fit into all of it. That's yours and yours alone to discover. Who knows. Maybe you'll hate PvP.

The salt I've experienced has been fun. A few guys go nuclear here and there but... Their choice right. If you're that angry go have a coffee or a walk.

As mentioned you put salt out there's a good chance its coming back 1000 fold

I'm all for the BGS getting love to make it more fun and engaging.

And I'm not a pure murderhobo, I get my share of carebear BGS game play in as well. :)

BGS activity on these forums have been an underlying current for years now. Unfortunately, BGS discussions on the forums have remained well below any and all bars set for metrics and discussions. On top of that, I am unsure if adding a BGS forum would be as active as the other sections here on our forums.

Question is, would folk be able to influence said subforum from Reddit and the like? :D

As an avid BGS player, I have to agree. Most of the pertinent information is on Discord, especially the finer details. There's a lot in the megathread as well, but it's not close to being as active as Discord.

There's little motivation to move those conversations over here.

If you would like people to show respect to other people that is very commendable.

If you can honestly live in 2017 and expect that to happen universally, I don't even know where to start. Does that stance really reflect your experience of life?

Oddly enough, yes, in real life that perfectly reflects the vast majority of social encounters i have with other people.
And while i'm not naive enough to expect the same in an online environment, i refuse to muster the defeatist mentality to just let go of this most basic of social principles "because it's the internet".
Can't help it, and won't.

I know Brett, I was conscious of the fact that we don't have a critical mass, I did put the little raspberry smilie on to highlight that I wasn't being overly serious or upset. Sure we could fill an entire sub-forum but I suspect that we would mostly be talking to ourselves!

That and on Inara.cz as well. Both Discord and Inara have more convenient group coordination tools than here.

The biggest problem with BGS chat here is everyone can read it, so Inara and discord take primacy.
