Why do Developers dont give a single notice or interaction on PvP Subforum?

Simply put, PVP forum was made for general PVP discourse, PVP information, ship builds, and so forth. Granted, over time, i feel it'll turn into a LAWL NEWB GIT GUD, and will invalidate the forums existence. Which would be quite unfortunate, so i hope that won't happen.

The PVP forum was added due to it surpassing a threshold i set a few years back on activity based per keywords/hot-word matching, in addition to observations. It worked out nicely due to the planned forum revamp as well.

Do we read threads in those sub-forums? Yes, very much so yes, day in and out.
Will we (the devs or CM team, or what have you in mind) reply to said threads? No, probably not.

Ah cool. Glad I haven't wasted any time posting there. While combat mechanics have gotten the lion's share of dev time, there is still zero incentive or mechanics for non-random PVP. It's a problem. Hopefully it will be addressed in the core gameplay update along with Exploration fleshing out etc, but I'm not holding my breath. Meanwhile, Star Citizen is looking like it will completely pants ED existing gameplay. I sincerely hope Frontier aren't going to "hail Mary" the Beyond content. Even the Exploration in SC is going to be competitive and dynamically and crucially integrated into the SC economy. We can only hope that PVP/Exploration will finally be fleshed out into an integrated whole with the core gameplay update. Again, not holding my breath, but if you're taking community input, I highly recommend you "borrow" some pages from Star Citizen's play book here and make this Frankenstein's zombie quilt of disjointed careers into a more organic and integrated whole ecosystem of activities.

But CIG haven't delivered any of that either.

PS: Good job on the holo-me, did a good job capturing the look there.

I just love it when people say that. Like it's some amazing RL achievement that someone is better than someone else at a computer game. I'm sure Drake, Edison (et al) would have held these people in high regard /s.

It might mean something to someone out there. Way back when, I knew a guy who worked for a local video game company called Origin. (The original one that did Ultima and Wing Commander). He played video games and got paid for it. The problem with "gittin' gud" was that once someone in that field got to a certain proficiency, he was no longer representative of the target audience.

One of the perks there was a huge snack bar area that was well stocked with free food. Lots of happy employees there. Incidentally, I did some programming for that company, but not for their games. I programmed their building automation and security. Fun times.

Oh, you should've been around when Americo Vespuci discovered "America". He was all like, "Get rekt scrubz!" Or when Thomas Edison said to Nicola Tesla, "You're exploiting broken OP crap cos you got no skillz" to which Tesla replied, "Lol wut? Git gud noob."

You don't even want to know what Ghandi was like when he was playing chess against someone.

:D ;)

Frontier haven't even stated any details at all about what they mean by core gameplay expansion. Whereas CIG has a clear and integrated roadmap where Exploration is an integral part of the colonizing/mining/real estate market. CIG even has a factory-colony ship designed just for that purpose. CIG will be so integrated that Exploration and PVP are actually going to be related mechanics! Now that's an ecosystem! Sure it's only aspirational at this point, but up till now all we have heard from Frontier is "Core Gameplay" "Improvements" and "Beyond". They have given zero details and said nothing on whether they will finally integrate their mechanics with each other to create an ecosystem.

I think this is unlikely given that Frontier seem to enjoy having a static galaxy that is entirely dominated by top-level admin inputs, where players actions are largely inconsequential or fully incapable of altering the landscape in any significant way that hinted at "ownership". It's understandable that they want to control their own assets and story arc, but imo games are like birds, and this one is being caged and squeezed to death by an icy vice grip. Instead of treating the players like a resource and an in game asset, we are treated like fractious mob of unruly toddlers that need to be kept in separate play pens, otherwise we'll burn the place down if given the slightest chance.

Sorry for rant! And thanks, the Avatar was just dumb luck actually. Slapped a beard and long hair on my existing HoloMe and it looked surprisingly baltar-like :)

A sticky on PVP forums would be nice, the god roll post deserves it.

If frontier doesnt have a mod who is PVP orientated to look after the PVP sub forum and work with those CMDRs then maybe they should get one.

There is some non-salty farming PVPers about :)

I'm going off on a slight tangent, but its still related to PvP and Frontier engagement.

Whilst we are talking PvP in the main area, has anybody heard anything about the Icarus Cup (what was to be Frontiers official PvP League)? I seem to remember taking part in a Discord call with other PvP'ers and Zac, what seems like eons ago!!

The community run PvP League 3 was awesome BTW. The PvP community are nowhere near as naughty as we are made out to be.

Ok, just stopped work for a few minutes on my coffee break. Who's still talking about my crystal balls?

I'd forgotten all about them, but as I was browsing a takeaway menu something or other reminded me.

His opponents would get totally pwned.

You've got that the wrong way around. Assuming the police always existed, there was a time when they were doing their job and a time that they became bad (or not very good), so the thing is that AFTER the police got lazy, the criminality increased. Problem=police. You would never blame a lion for eating you if you get in his territory, right? If the lion is running around free, whose fault is that, the lion's? ;)

When would this have happened, that police got nerfed?

Whereas CIG has a clear and integrated roadmap

Which is fine, but they still have to deliver on that. ED had the DDF, but that also failed to materialize as well. Plans are wonderful, until you encounter the enemy (the code :D).

And we are really getting off topic here.
