Darn it!!!!!! Wondered this to a while back. I remember them getting the hump as fd wasn't helping them much a while back, never thought they would pull the plug.

Git gud at trading and use the galaxy map. Did you know that in the 1984 manual, it clearly states that the publication of commodity prices outside a system's jurisdiction is strictly prohibited? That's right! Thrudd's is illegal!*

*The latter may or may not still apply. I do think "trading" with help from third-party websites is lame though. Takes all the effort out.

Well when all you have in game is next to nothing you can't really blame people for recurring to third party tools.

Theres a fine line between when you are putting effort into something and when it starts to become annoying, in this case it's the latter

Thrudd's site traffic tapered off gradually as more sites offered similar data.

He has offered to hand it off to anyone who would like to resurrect it and maintain it.

I'm not sure of the exact functionality you were using there, but here is another to consider.
Rogeuy's has one feature I always thought was exceptionally good, where it shows the best trade route atm in-game.
There is a bunch of other functions and ways to use the site, but here's the link to that best trade route page.

Cheers, Cmdr. Enjoy your flights! o7

I trade just fine without the tools. Massive profits. Both legal and illicit.

Yep. No longer exists.

This is one of the many reasons FDev should never trust on third party sites to give ED players the info they need to play the game.
ED as a game should be completely self sufficient and offer everything that is needed to play the game... IN the game.

stuff like, thrudds, ship yard configurators and eddb should all be built into the UI of the game.

I understand the 'git gud' argument, but its still kinda lame since this isnt 1984 Elite. (And I'm old enough to have played it on my C64)

Just saying. We've had E*Trade since 2000, but in 3300 where we have commodities trading on an intergalactic scale we cant get the ship computer to tell us trade info?

The bigger issue with this argument is if you really only used the resources available in the game, you literally wouldnt be able to do most of the 'end game' type content in this game because the game doesnt tell you. The game has almost no explanation on the types of USS, planetary landing coordinates, what stations sell what modules or most of the things dealing with the different economic systems. Most of the Guardian/Thargoid stuff also has zero explanation.

That said, I didnt use Thrudds out of laziness mostly. I hate having to play with a computer open. Luckily with 2.4 BB trade missions are paying out almost as much as min/maxing with ABA commodities trading. At allied I'm getting $3-6Mil each way with 1-hop BB hauling missions.

I also do believe that FD mentioned that "something" is being added to trading in Beyond.

It's the holiday season and I am not driving to every store in the county to find the best prices and stock availability. I'll check the internet and call around.

I've never understood the hate for needing third-party apps. Expecting the same detailed info on every aspect of every feature using in-game UI is a bit crazy to me. If you want to avoid third-party apps, fine. Get out your pencil and notepad, and get ready to take notes constantly. Outfitting, Trading, where you purchased that 6D Business Cabin that one time...
Expecting Frontier to make a fantastic game is one thing. Expecting them to create their own in-game Internet is completely different. And unrealistic at best.
Agreed that it's no longer 1984. So get out your smart phone and use it, already.
