Hmm, I do PVP 100% of the gameplay and no PVE whatsoever for the past few months.

Its a PvP game for me.

Really?

Then why don't you erase all that ill gotten gear from PvE money and earn it with just PvP then?

No PvE mission boards, no PvE BGS work, no PvE CGs.
Just pure PvP cash, only earned by killing other players.

Graphics got better, game play is about the same. :)

That wasn't the point ;)

I am not talking about the current state of ED but about what it could be, and according to sovapid executive control (whatever that means) is the only thing that happened in 33 years of gaming history.

No they don't.

I play with people, by choice, so if FDev implements NPC wingmates it won't benefit me a bit.

If you don't play with people, by choice, and FDev does multi player improvements it won't benefit you.

Maybe people with NPC wings would be more encouraged to play in open which should improve your experience.

As to the idea that the AI was labotomised, this is not the case. Engineered modules where removed due to a major bug, which made the NPC's easier to kill. I seem to remember that MoM said that the AI hadn't changed.

Goose4291 is correct, AI tactics and aggression was definitely changed, it was plain to see for anyone around at the time actively involved in PvE combat or just simply surviving cargo runs. We only had a brief period where the AI was a true threat. Nothing to do with the engineer weapons glitch.

Kinda backing yourself into a wall here arent ya? You're showing PVP needs incentive lol.

For the record, you can make money off BGS PVP. I mean if you have your own lil system thats cool. But you can make okay cash when you're vs another faction.

Its funny when the arguments come full circle and everyone agrees.

But the Thargoids are a pretty feisty bunch aren't they?

Or have they been downgraded as well when I didn't look.

This reminds me of the fight between those inhabiting empire space and null sec in EVE with regard to content. Except here players really have the option of opting out of more dynamic game play when playing solo. i have to say those resisting more dynamic gameplay and deeper content are a bit ridiculous. For the most part a deeper sandbox isn't going to have much if any effect on their play, so why bother railing against it? The only thing I can think of is it disturbs the cocooned like coma they see and are happy to play in. Why not be happy with what your doing, and let the sandbox evolve?

That was a moment between 2.1 beta 4 and 2.1 beta 5 IIRC ;)

I believe the only difference was that NPCs always run as soon as they lost shields, which was pretty boring if you ask me.

Didn't you say you were leaving?

Well with all the outcry because the game became non-trivial, FD found itself between a pillow and a soft place and were soft-armed in turning back NPC's into Gumibears XD

The mistake was made when Frontier decided there needed to be player factions there at all.

'Player factions' is the sole reason i'm still in... ;)

I do hope FD learned, at last, from mistakes of the past.
You wouldn't imagine my looks (i literally spilled my beer) when i heard Sandro say 'We will come back to it later when we see it gets used often' in the stream prior to multi-crew.
Worst decision ever. Couldn't believe he said that.

So, FD, pls, whatever these 2 unannounced Content Updates in Beyond will be, do NOT do something like this again.
If there's no time (or complications or whatever limits) to release a fully fleshed out mechanic, rather ditch it early instead of releasing something half-baked again.

I have never ever used multicrew to this day. Why?
Because besides an arcade turret shooter there's nothing in it.
No point in using it for trading, exploring, no srv's, no nothing (i wouldn't consider moving a pip around 'gameplay').
And, you have to equip properly beforehand. No turret, no MC. On top of that, still buggy.

Whether the AI represent a threat, or not, depends on the player. Remembering that half of all players are at or below median skill, Frontier cannot make the AI a challenge for all players without adversely affecting a significant number of players (unless they tailor the encountered AI difficulty to each player - which would get tricky in a multi-player instance).

Thats you. The only headline feature I didn't like was multicrew. Not that I was ever going to use it anyway. And others will have different feeliings on all of them. So when someone say they where all ill recieved, it was for that person, but he can't talk about everyone.

Agreed... But I think we can maybe read from the warm fuzzy feeling we fail to get in discussions about Season 2 how a large number of people feel about its content... I think for many folks, alot of it has fallen short of the sort of content they'd hoped to get.

There were certainly good/excellent elements in Season 2, but also too many questionable ones too at least IMHO. I mean here we are at the culmination of 3yrs of development and a lot of build up to an aggressive alien race and we can see what interesting deep and meaninful gameplay unfolding? The BGS in turmoil with groups of CMDRs helping with mass evacuations and the defense of convoys of ships? Or instead tired 3yr old CG mechanics and newly bolted on mini-games to destroy boss ships?

I'd suggest for many, Season 2 hasn't taken the game in the direction and depth they were hoping for... (At least IMHO)

Oh I'm talking a while back, NPC combat was just farming, SJA promised to give them some teeth, she delivered on her promise, many cried, some asked what a PIP setting was, AI was eventually dialled back again.

The Thargoids definitely pack a punch.

I agree, solo players should get the extra pip when they have a hired multicrew. Also be able to hire some NPC's to drop in with you with standard ships.

And I'm not even talking about that (although the extra pip idea is good - it remove a blatant advantage), I'm talking about exploration, trading, USSs, POIs, all the things that people do when they're not shooting at NPCs or other players.

Combat is *at best* 1/3rd of this game. Let's show the the other 2/3rds some love first, eh?
