And probably others I've missed, who all say they no longer play the game. Why create content for a player who has already left that would also not be of interest for the majority of players. Far more sensible to concentrate on what the core customers are doing, which FDEV know through the metrics.

That would certainly explain why there's been no shift whatsoever on FDEV's modes/BGS stance since prior to launch.

Right I'm not currently playing, why create content for someone who paid for the game, who spent over 6x the initial price in cosmetics, and weekly logs in for a couple minutes only to buy a random cosmetic in order to support FD out of gratitude for their game?

Hmm lemme think… perhaps because said scoundrels might actually come back and bring lots of friends?? Instead of catering to the same old rigid mentality group of entitled backstarters who want the game to stay niche forever?

It already would at some level. PowerPlay stuff is affected by BGS a bit in terms of bonuses etc.

I'd actually LOVE to see that get expanded, with "logistics" playing an actual part in the BGS... hauling and deliveries from mission gameplay, so on and so forth.

Reminds me of one of the threads that popped up recently about "combat" being the only factor that affected the BGS from missions.

Would certainly make it more dynamic across the board, IMO. There would be more to hauling goods and so forth, piracy would also MEAN something in terms of BGS...

Its crazy dude, Im friends with a lot of people that come by my streams that dont play anymore and just hang out. Waiting for the changes to finally come or watching me learn PVP.

Ran into lots of people on reddit that are just waiting for the meat of the game to finally arrive and some core issues to get fixed.

This was something I was talking about earlier, people just generalizing everything because they have 0 experience. Or they only pay attention to the salty stuff that shows up. When that stuff is really really small beans compared to everything else.

I see this being raised a lot, too. To be fair, you have a good point- yes you are a customer. You have a right and opinion, too.

As far as the "bring lots of friends" and so forth... companies don't make major decisions based on the promise of new customers... they make them based on what's actually going in their general ledger.

That's the reality here. As long as the game continues to sell, it doesn't matter how many people hang around playing it. (not trying to be overtly "harsh" here) :)

Or they might not.
Or the influx of new player might be offset by the players leaving because they don't like the game any more.

Who's to say that your preferred niche is any more popular than the existing niche?
Presumably FDev, since they know who is playing and what they're doing - and they seem happy with their 2 million units sold.

They already have your cash, they don't actually need you anymore.

Say you're having a party and a <insert inconsistent dietary requirement> constantly complains about the limited buffet options, then storms out. Do you still consider widening buffet parameters after they've gone or just make jokes about them.

Whilst we PvPers mostly support many of the Non-PvP community outcries, such as exploration diversity and depth, mining complexity, trading stimuli, core gameplay improvements, heck even atmo/leggies, what do we get in return??

Let's stay united… PvP and not PvP pushing together. Divided, we only make it easier for the Devs. Many of the PvP proposals don't affect what explorers, mission runners, traders do, at all, from the comfort of their Solo/PG.

You're on point once again.
