Modes Elite Dangerous PvE vs PvP and who needs a Solo play if you had PvE server

Its nothing but an organization on discord for getting into a wing, same old without any content.
Isn't that how the whole Salome event worked though? Players talked in forum, discord, reddit, etc to produce that emergent game play? After all, Elite is a sandbox. Do whatever you want with it. And there it was, a game play that was using Elite. And apparently, for some players it was the best thing created since sliced bread. So why not do it again? Why have Elite somehow be changed to make Solo/PG players move into Open? Nothing would change if they did because the greatest game play (I'm told) wasn't created by Frontier, but by the emergent game play from gamers making it happen. So I'd say, this discord organization, or whatever they are, are doing the right thing. That's how you produce events where you can infiltrate and kill the main character and such things.

If you logged in into OPEN you will be my content whether you like it or not, if you cheat you will be reported and put to shame on public forums and YouTube. I have few loggers "starring" in my YT channel.

And when you keep making false reports, and "shaming" people in comms i'll net you sooner or later end up in receiving end of disciplinary action.

And nothing forces me to bee your content. If by some mistake I logged into that cesspit and saw you, I would just log off to menu. Action approved and embraced by FDev. And if YOU try to take action I would report you back. And encourage others to do the shame.

I have a feeling your deeds might very well get you into trouble for harassment. Specially if reported by multiple people.

So in your shoes I would think hard about what you do. It can in the end bite you in the rear.

Feel free to block me, couldn't care less if the whole forum will blocks me, I am only against it if there was any content to block against, unless you come to the CG in open we will never meet anyway.

Have you ever played a sandbox game before?

You seem to have missed not only what Elite: Dangerous is, but how sandboxes work in general.

90% of the fun comes from your own imagination. the last 10% is the tools provided to have fun with.
This isn't Final Fantasy, Frontier are not there to hold your hand or tell you a story. They gave us tools to write our own stories. That's the point.

My story does not include you, in fact no other player has to include you.
You seem incapable of making your own story and are now relying on others to be your content.

Then you tell me you don't care if the whole player base blocks you, in a forum where you're moaning about not having interaction with other players and you are bored.

Is any of this leaping out at you?
Can you not see where you've gone wrong?

Except ED is not a sandbox, and never will be with the current game mechanics and the mode design.

You want a real sandbox play Rust. There is no PVE content there whatsoever, 100% of the content comes from the players, but your ability as a player in Rust involves ALOT, incomparable to ED.

ED doesnt have any tools to create your own content, you are flying a space ship, and the only change you might experience for advancement is to fly a bigger/stronger/faster spaceship. You dont own anything, you dont affect anything (well one of the million of proc generated BGS factions), you basically fly aimlessly in a sidewinder or some other ship.

ED is an unfinished MMO which tries to be also a single player game which makes a mess. There is nothing to do for a multiplayer player and there is half baked PVE content for a single player which also affects the common Multiplayer functionality, its a big mix of features that have nothing to do with each other and all FDEV cares is how to sell it to the different player types.

Lets go back to Rust, over there when you die you loose all your belongings (basically start from a sidewinder in EDs terms), when you loose your belongings you are obviously at a great disadvantage compared to your enemies. You might loose your base or be trapped, you can see how there is content and dynamic gameplay. In ED you die, you re-spawn, you die again. What kind of multiplayer PVP content I should "imagine"? wings fighting over nothing? Endless re-spawns? there are no winns or looses, just "imaginative" experience which gets dull after one try.

And this is why people stay out of open, they have no desire to be your content.

Wow, just wow.

You think Rust is a shining example of a sandbox game. Poor you.
PvP is not the pinnacle of sandbox games. Otherwise World of Warships/ Tanks / Planes or War Thunder would be your ideal game.

The most noteworthy sandbox game is Minecraft, they give you the tools to work within their world and a few NPCs to interact with - apart from that, you're on your own.
Same goes for Ark: Survival Evolved. You get an environment, the tools to master it - and the rest is up to you.

Both games have PvP / PvE options. Both games are sandbox games. Both games require the player to have an imagination to make the most of it.
Sounds and awful lot like Elite: Dangerous to me.

Oh, by the way - Rust has PvE. So yet again you're not being honest.

Any game with NPCs, has a PvE element to it. As NPCs are part of the "environment" (Hint: the "E" in "PvE" stands for "environment")

.

I don't know much about setting a game up, but even I can see a billion tools out there in this game. As more learned people seem to say, there are combats made by players, explorings made by players, discoveries made by players. tradings made by players, and it is fun. It is hard work but still fun.
In a non-sandbox I can see that you must do A to unlock B.
Here, in EDD you do what you want, where you want, when you want. I have an average of 6.8 hours play per day for last 18 months and have not done anything like some of the more adventurous players.
ED gave you Thargoids. Go kill Thargoids if that is your want! You don't have to. Might be fun to try. I wont try. Not unless there are more players between those alien and my ship than are in this forum.
I'll just go sit on that beige ball over there and watch you lot. My choice. Not EDD's choice.
PS: Single player (solo) is not a mess. I love it! :D

PPS: I'm way past my use by date, so I ain't ever gonna git gud! So there, stick that in ya pipe and smoke it!

I call for ONE play mode. And have a PvP toggle.

Job done.

Or a standalone OFFLINE ED, where it can be my personal sandbox, galaxy play thing.

Would work for some. Some others, however, simply do not want to be instanced with another player, ever - and they backed / bought a game that offers them that choice.

If you go into Mobius or other private PVE groups and find me.. I will log and wave at you as I do it. Shame me, report me all you want and I will laugh at you the whole time. Even if I happened to log into Open I would never be YOUR content.. here's a fact for you. No one is YOUR content... that you even think that shows part of the problem with open...

See, over the last couple of weeks Ive come to the conclusion that I dont think ED is a sandbox, it merely has the veneer of one (like an early Bethesda RPG). Freedom to roam with only minor changes to it by the player being achievable to give the feel of a sandbox

I think it was Jex that pointed out that for it to be a true sandbox you'd have to be able to alter the environment in at least semi-permanent ways, which you can't. It's a sort of 'frozen' sandbox...you can walk over the sand and visit different bits of sand but you can't alter the sand significantly.
