Ship docks, CQC structures and other new in-game assets

This system really filling up with ships.

Thanks Factabulous! I've now moved all the INRA stuff into its own little section where I've also linked the far better INRA Base Discoveries thread (which includes proper attribution for the discoverers rather than my somewhat vague links to the forum posts where I first heard about these things).

I've also added the Spinward megaship and installation.

OK so I just went to visit the Lowell Class Science Vessel at Wolf 485A. Nothing there. I've looked at the list in the first post and I see it has (moving) shown after it, which I assume means it's no longer in Wolf 485A and has gone somewhere else. The (moving) text in the first post is a link to the Canonn website which as I type has been attempting to open for five minutes with no success, it seems the entire site is down.

So, before I completely lose my crap, can anyone tell me if there's a way to discover the current location of these ships in-game rather than relying on an unavailable player group's website? Or is that answer to that one (as I suspect) 'LOL how long have you been p;laying this game for now..?'

If anybody needs me I'll be driving around Dav's Hope (again) looking for chemical manipulators (again) which is exactly what I was aiming to avoid. [mad]

Yeah, I find it highly frustrating that locating these ships is a random encounter unless you track them down through the forum. We really could do with a filter in the galaxy map.

Yeah, sorry about that, I just didn't have the energy to keep on top of the location of all the moving megaships and, seeing as Canonn seemed to be doing a good job of it, I just linked to them. And yeah, you're right, their website does seem pretty slow to load.

Incidentally, while you're at Dav's Hope, why not take a crack at the "Hope and Glory" Buckyball Race that's linked in my signature!

WRT the last line, mainly because I'm in a half-engineered Corvette which is probably about the least suitable vessel for Buckyballing that I can possibly imagine :D

Edit - sorry I don't have sigs enabled usually, I see now that it's an SRV race lol.

As for the ship locations, it's not on you at all Alec - you'd be spending half your life updating the thread given how many of them there are. Same goes for the Canonn website; it's great that they do provide that information but it's not a responsibility of theirs to do it or anything - I appreciate that they do it but it would be so much better to be able to access this information in-game. It could be done via the nav map easily enough, maybe the kind of thing that they could look at for Beyond; kind of a galactic ATC system where players can log in to check the publicly recorded flight plans for megaships etc.

It would still leave FDev the opportunity to plant their 'special' ones outside of the recorded flight plans, in fact if anything the fact that they wouldn't be included in the public records actually enhances the lore for off-the-net ships.

In EDDB. Goto Stations Tab, then goto Types and input, Megaships. Then filter the system you are in or whatever you want to chose, and hopefully. Will give you a current whereabouts of all Megaships in game!!!

There's another bulk carrier (definitely not moving) in PLEIADIES SECTOR IH-V C2-5

It shows up as a target in the nav panel, so easy to find ("THOMAS BULK CLASS CARGO SHIP DFX-056"). Lots of mostly worthless canisters, and not seen any materials.

There's also a thargoid in there giving it a bit of a probe. The Thargoid turns hostile if you scan it (I guess if you shoot it too!), otherwise it mostly ignores you and leaves after a bit.
