Totally agree with the OP. I enjoy watching the Thargoids, and when they try to attack my ship is usually fast enough to be able to escape. I don't trust Aegis, and I don't think going to war with something we don't understand is going to help us in the long run. Far better to learn more about their motives and how they operate first before we do a charge of the Light Brigade at them.

People saying thargs shot first unprovoked haven't shown evidence. If you break the 500m bubble around them it's the same as you entering a planet settlement trespassing zone. Don't antagonize something you know nothing about and claim it's their fault

Yes. The Thargoids are pretty communicative about what they dislike, and are pretty forgiving about their "personal space" when you back off.

I've spent a lot of time in the Pleiades, and never had one aggress on me (well, without cause - I've fired a few probes at them). I've never even been hyperdicted.

Then again, I never murdered UA's or UP's and never shot up barnacles.

There is a commander who has never fired on a Thargoid, but when she checks out a non-human USS she has been killed by the Thargoid ship. (I believe a few times)

Those of you that say the Thargs never fire first are wrong.

Many commanders fire first, and many Thargs fire first.

Play the game. Don't analize it. (If analasis is required, try analizing STALKER)

"There is a commander" you say. Who is that commander? Does he/she have a name and some video proof that he has been shot unprovoked? Should be easy enough to provide since he/she has been attacked multiple times as you say.

There is a Commander who has been hyperdicted a few times, who also jumped into many non human signal sources and encountered Thargoids and has _never_ been attacked by them unprovoked.
That Commander is me, by the way.
