Cleaning lenses (Rift)

I use camera lens cloths for wiping any skin oils that get on the lenses and I use Cressi anti-fog spray to keep the lenses fog-free.

I'd just be wary of that anti-fog spray leaving stuff on the lenses creating god rays etc?

I really feel for you trying to use glasses in the Rift. I too have to wear glasses, being very short sighted, and I found it just impossible to get any comfort in the rift with glasses on as well - it was just not possible for me. Also I was paranoid about getting scratches on the Rift lenses from the glasses themselves, so all in all I was not enjoying the experience at all. Until .... I came across the WIDMO prescription lenses which fit perfectly inside the rift actually protecting the rift lenses, which then require less cleaning anyway, and they are the exact prescription for each wearer. I did try contacts and they too worked well, but to me the hassle of putting them in and out somewhat degraded my overall enjoyment of the Rift itself. So for me WIDMO was the way to go. The only downside would be if you wanted to switch users a lot with your headset (which I don't). It takes a minute or two to fit the lenses into the headset and I can imagine this being a hassle eventually as well. I found that the steaming up problem is easily resolved by warming the lenses with a hair dryer prior to use. Hope you get sorted out, and that the next gen of headset makes more provision for those with sight issues.

Like I said, I don’t use any glasses and (knock on wood) hopefully won’t until Im retired. Same thing with hair loss I hope lol. But I appreciate the tips, and I find very frustrating for those that need glasses, it is not designed to support those easily. I can also understand why using contact lenses must be a pain, I only know 1 person that used them daily and there must be a reason for that. A more permanent solution with the lens pre-installed is ideal, unless multiple people will use. Seems to be the best solution for current models: https://vr-lens-lab.com/product/oculus-rift-lens-inserts/

Have there been regular complaints about using them with contacts? I use mine all the time and the only "difficulty" I have is that I need to remember to blink more often so that they don't dry out.

I can wear Airflow monthly disposables for hours at a time. The only downside is that contacts aren't quite as sharp as glasses, but my glasses are a tight fit and add in lenses add unwanted weight in my case (thick prescription). ymmv
