PvP Is there really no ingame reward for PvP?

Merits, money or rep...anything?

I mean, I know you can try bounty hunting or pirating, but I guess you will end up searching for players in supercruise most of the time.

So, atm it basically is just for roleplaying purpose and/or knowing that you are better then someone else, right?

There is none. Besides any Bounties you may get from beating a Wanted Commander. There are some rewards for Power Play, if I remember right. That's about it.

You can collect bounties off players and you can pirate them (which is what I do). Stolen goods still count towards CG progress so you can usually get a few million from it.

Nope, you used to get 1 merit for a pvp powerplay kill (vs 30 for npc). Now you get nothing! Stupid design here Fdev.

Really? I was under the impression, that you don't get anything for killing a cmdr from a different faction..
But I haven't done PowerPlay until now, so I may be wrong.
Actually this was one of the reasons that held me off from starting PP..

Despite the ability to engage in PvP outside of whatever bounty a player has (often not much) and whatever cargo you can steal from them there is no actual reason to PvP in ED.

Apart forn the challenge of fighting another player ED PvP is pointless is a so called 'dangerous' galaxy...pity really.

All my Arena PvP kills get me a few credits for main game, closer to Quad Elite and unlock items for the fighters to try that are not available ingame...and it's pretty fun.

If you're below Elite combat rank the kills count towards your combat rank.

While you don't get powerplay merits for killing an opposed faction member, you do stop them handing in any merits or cargo that they were carrying, so it can have some effect on the overall outcome.

The true reward for PVP is outside of the game.

If you do PVP right, you are rewarded with threads about your actions on this forum and reddit.

To ensure you get the absolute top reward, you need to record your PVP, add music to it and uploaded it to youtube for others to enjoy.

No. The moment we propose any PvP rewards the forumites go wild with indignation.

"But why should PvP get rewards? Dat means there is somethink I can't get because I dun't PvP!"

There should definitely be rewards for PvP activity, like merits for killing opposing Powers. That they have removed this, which was supposed to be atleast somewhat catered to PvP is beyond me.

The forum goes wild with indignation when someone seriously suggests they should get credits for just killing any random player. That is stupid and deserves wild indignation, with a sprinkle of ridicule. Anti-PF missions from, let's say The Dark Wheel, would be acceptable. Just plain credits out of nowhere for random murder however...not so much.

Trust me bud, just construct a thread asking for a piece of PvP content to be developed, and wait for the complaints to come in that "you should stop asking for content I can't do".

That the playerbase thinks content has to be aimed at all players at once is really quite disturbing.
