Engineers Unlocking SELENE JEAN - What am I missing ?

So a friend and I both were playing, and got our $100K in bounties and went and saw engineer Tod McQuinn; both bought cannons and both modified them. He got a message setting him off to go see the next engineer in line but I didn't. I've restarted just to make sure it wasn't something weird but still no message/quest etc. The "Hull" engineer for me, Selene Jean doesn't show up at all. Tried searching the forum and google but couldn't find anything discussing this exact issue. Any advice ?

Have you mined 500 t of ore?

You need to get to grade 3 with McQuinn to get the invite from Selene Jean. Perhaps your friend did a roll or two more than you and thus increased their reputation with McQuinn more than you?

After that, as Para Handy says, you will need to mine 500 tons of ore (anything), and then provide her with 10 tons of Painite.

I have not as of yet, but pretty sure my friend hadn't either, he has to mine 500t now, but I don't even show her at all. He got an in game mail introducing him to her, after completing the same turn in at the Trophy Camp as I did. I can try to mine it though, just thought it may be a waste of time if she isn't showing up. (Thanks for the fast reply)

You need to rank up to grade 3 - 4 so if you've just got to grade 3 do a few more mods or hand in some bounties until you reach grade 3 + 66%

To get the invite from the next engineer in line, you have to be grade 3 and 1/3rd, (33% progress to Grade 4), so what I did was any of these when I reached Grade 3
* Do 3 grade 2 rolls
* Do 1 grade 3 roll.
(* Do 9 grade 1 rolls)

I just rolled whatever I had lots of material for, I rarely applied these rolls on my modules. As I mostly wanted to have have grade 5 or 4.
