It is your terminology that is incorrect. Don't confuse player base and owners which is what you seem to be doing. If you said 95% of the game owners don't seem to be playing, then people would understand you. Player base are the people who still play regularly.

Nobody has ever used "game owners" as a term afaik. I just listed a ton of articles that use Player Base. I provided fact, all you have are assertions. Go find some facts to support your position and then we can talk. Since I'm so obviously wrong, you'll find plenty of articles to support your position.

What does it say just after the big letters of the title?

I also posted that exact link a few pages back.

Only problem is that players will scream bleaking murder when they're griefed unexpectedly and not sitting in the cockpit to handle the situation.

And who cares about that? I mean does any really care that some baby complains that they didn't win at their space ship game? LOL Let them scream and their screams might be heard from others who look at ED again and suddenly find a new and better came and the player numbers go up.

The screamers don't do anything but drag the game down which is why the AI sucks right now. We know for a fact it can be better, SJ proved that. What she didn't count on was that she'd need to open a salt mine after introducing her new AI LOL

If you don't just read the big letters but also the article you'll realise that they don't refer to your definition of player base.

"Since The Division‘s launch exactly three months ago, Ubisoft’s “fastest-selling game ever” (according to the publisher who did not provide exact numbers at the time) has gone from a daily total of 2.1 million players at its peak to now down 93% to just 143k total players yesterday on Steam"

:)

I've mentioned this before (not that that's going to stop me :) ) but I'd like to see something like FSD synthesis for supercruise. Each grade (1,2,3) increases your acceleration (and maybe top speeds beyond 2,001c) by a certain amount, but turbulence increases so you can't just aim at your destination and walk away - you need to be constantly at the controls, especially for grade 3. Think something like what you experience in a neutron cone, only perhaps not as extreme.
That sounds like a reasonable option to (on occasion) speed up supercruise. Another possibility is a intra-system jump-gate. Gates should be uncommon, but would be usually build in populous systems with a distant secondary star. That doesn't affect Hutton Truckers or explorers at all, which is a plus, in my book. Synthesis would not be necessary, but there probably should be a toll to use the gate.

So there are only 11k players (peak) playing this game and 80 Billion syar systems?

And people are actually whining about getting "griefed" (interacted with), allowing out of bubble system ownership, and player run market.

Wow. JUST PLAY SOLO

I do. And you know what? I don't have any trouble with griefing.

That is 11000 players peak concurrently or at the same time if you don't know what concurrently means. That does not mean a maximum of 11000 people play the game. So not too sure what you mean by that.

Must have overlooked that, because I think this discussion leads to nothing. I am agreeing with your points most of the time, but not this time and I wanted to show you why. Babelfisch already quoted the important part.

so, some new content was just announced. now you can do those boring missions with a friend, that way you can be bored together. ipredict op will be our new messias.

Yeh, you have to admit, even after one or two revisions, the missions are exactly 2017-2018 are they... :)

But you still won't be able to do any of the already existing boring missions with a friend. This will be a new set of nearly identical, separate missions, and *only* these new missions will be shareable.

Having the basic 90s-era MMO ability to share any mission with your friends? Still too hard for Fdev to deliver.

... and since there are 3 platforms (PC, XBox, PS)...

4 platforms. OSX is a separate platform iirc.
It isn't. Mac and Windows players share the same instances and can meet each other.
I don't think this is about instances, but about code-bases.

This. "Platform" usually implies different cuts of code that require support. Depends on how you (development teams) want to define it, but even on windows you can potentially have three platforms: 32bit, 64bt, all/any (assemblies for both 32 and 64, if it requires a specific targeted build).

Note that Frontier dropped 32bit support in 2.2 iirc, which could be considered dropping a supported platform: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/289874-Future-support-for-Win-32-and-DX10

OSX / MaxOS is a distinctly different codebase from the others.

Well, you're obviously not a "believer". Stop looking for the Emperor's clothes. He's naked. Just say he looks nice and move along. Or feel the wrath of the pitchforks from the faithful!

All kidding aside, the stream really didn't say much - okay, the folks talked a lot - but really didn't say much about improving the gameplay IMO. As you pointed out, the wing missions don't add anything to improve the gameplay mechanic. They use the current mechanic, together with what sounds like CG-like element for some sort of qty requirement, and split the rewards now within the wing - oh, one can choose a different reward mix which is new but it doesn't seem to add much compared to simply picking a different mission at the start (with different mission reward!). Why we need the option to change rewards at the end of a mission is, well, baffling or at the least, trivial.

So, basically, we heard nothing really new and more cut'n'paste of existing stuff which is the same pattern we've seen with most of Horizons. Yay for that I guess . And to the topic of this thread...

I don't get the OP, we know barely nothing of Beyond except for what Frontier told us... we know they keep surprises for a later date but yet there are already complaints ?
Beyond hasn't even started yet, damn... people like to complain.

They've announced high level what the major releases will be, and when.

One of those features, squadrons, isn't scheduled until the end of the year, and is supposed to increase your enjoyment of Powerplay, BSG, and Community Goals.

What the OP correctly pointed out, is that everyone thinks those three things are a bloody boring waste of time.

FDEV should be overhauling said 3 things...instead of taking 12 months to build squadrons.

Its all good, my expectations are set at zero.

I really hope the existing mechanics will be more challenging when doing Wing missions. Regarding the reward, some RPG already do it that way and I don`t think it can´t be considered an issue in general. But are they really adding commodities as a possible reward?

Yet here you are.

BTW, Did you take back your proven incorrect comments re: Steam keys?
