Mode switching for missions and Smeaton Orbital [200mill/hour]

What do you fly in game? Because when I get attacked in open play, and my ship gets destroyed by a player and I now have to pay 21 million to rebuy it. I'd rather now have to grind for a week to remake that money.

What system are you in? I'll come pay you a visit.

You realise there are other things to do in the game than this passenger mission thing right? Plenty of ways to earn that in an hour or two.

Maybe git gud? Isn't that what you hardbois who make threats like that keep telling everyone?

Says the have to the have-nots.

I'm not a 'have' - you'll need ot imagine a new reason.

Don't think people are complaining about a nerf - it's how this nerf makes it now non viable compared to local quick trips for many multiples more.

Still seeing 48x better off (credits per passenger per hour) just shuttling between 3 local systems with stations ~150 ls from entry point.

Anyhow, last Smeaton run coming up - seems some of the rich people missions were slow in being battered and data missions are still paying ~2M so have stacked up and off I go

A wide variety of ways to earn 30-60 MCr/hour - missions and otherwise - have survived multiple version releases without nerf or comment from FDev, so I'd guess that they think that's a reasonable high-end earning rate.

They've at this point ensured you'll not get that per hour for hauling cargo or passengers or mining for that matter. .. tho I'll concede they've said they'll issue a "correction". So hopefully they will partially reverse this rather harsh decision.

Not that Frontier has shown any interest towards fixing PP of late.. but the other thing this does it severely hampers hauling powers like Felicia Winters to finance expansion. The combined Imperials outnumber Winters greatly.. so without some way to finance our hauling that or rebalancing it in the next update.. Winters will have some difficulty competing.

Same thing with mining it seems. It takes a long time to complete any mining missions - and when you do, it doesn't pay well at all.
Mining missions can be made a lot more profitable with preparation - as the rocks which give the minerals are the same every time, and refresh every two hours, if you use an asteroid field, a RES, or (even better, since it might be giving out the missions) one of the rare ring-embedded stations as a reference point, you can with practice find and mine the same rock over and over again.

I don't know exactly how profitable it gets, since I never practiced enough at orienting myself and consistently finding the right rocks to do it well, but apparently you can make some serious cash off mining missions that way.

Balance? lol how about a bit insulting?

Now that long distance passenger missions are dead, what is the most efficient method to earn credits?

i don't know most efficient. some short range passenger missions are still paying over a million. trading medicines to outbreak systems is always a good money turner among others

it hasn't been balanced yet. they just nerfed it in meantime and will rebalance for beyond.

Hello commanders,

As some of you are aware, Passenger Bulk missions are currently generating extremely high credit rewards that we feel are excessive of what we would consider reasonable and balanced.

After a detailed investigation, we can confirm that this is due to an element in our mission generation algorithm that rewards credits based on the distance of the destination system from the star.

Due to this, we will be disabling (until further notice) the aforementioned element of Passenger Bulk missions to reduce the amount of credits offered as a reward. Commanders will still be able to select and complete Passenger Bulk missions, but will see less excessive credit rewards.

In the meantime, we will be reviewing the Passenger Bulk missions and correct the previously mentioned element – hopefully in time for you to test in the Beyond Chapter One beta.

Thanks to all the players who reported the issue.

Someone wants to grind 200ml/hr and so what?
Is it an Open Universe or not?

And please do not use the argument "it affects the Game economy"...
"it makes worthless any other career in the game"... blah blah blah [haha]

There is so lacks of contents till now that the only way for ED to survive are

1. there is no competition with similar game (basically a monopoly)
2. at least with some decent money you can buy and outfit ships
3. ...and no, that's all

[down]

A few suggestions.
1) Fire the dev responsible for killing the game in the 2.5 seconds it took to update the servers
2) Remove the players that whine and cry about things that don't actually affect the game...in any way.
3) Think before doing something....that's a note to all remaining dev's

Not sure that's enough now.

Holding those responsible for this latest screw up is vital, so totally agree with your first point. Anyone who fails to ignore terrible advice shouldn't have access to the buttons.

Splitting the game to Solo/Group and then a different version for Open would go a long way for your second point. It's now painfully obvious that the current team are incapable of thinking systemically, which bears much of the issue with their approach and decision making in attempting to satiate the needs of both Open Players, and everyone else.

As for your third point, they now have to think HARD. If the promised content this year doesn't hit the mark in every single way, and is not "affordable" without having to make ED a full time profession...

I'd prefer getting rid of the few players toxic enough to demand that everyone else is forced to slog through a single ship rebuy multiple hours at a time because that's how they like to play be removed (or at least shaddap about how other people play) and their computers set on fire for good measure, but that's just me.

Don't let your ship to be blown up...maybe. I don't know. It will solve rebuy cost alone.
