Who's brave : Total worth/hrs played =

Should be pointed out the hours played is not very accurate since it counts even when the game is minimized and not being played.

Nothing depends on it other than this one stat (and maybe your electricity bill) so it doesn't really matter. I qualified my Cr/Hr ratio when I posted it, if someone felt it important to mention how long they were afk they could.

It's not like more total assets is better (or worse) either, it's just an interesting stat from playing a different way :)

I like threads like this, there are loads for socialisers, explorers & killers, not so many for the achievers ;)

I don't know my stats, but I do know what it will show is I have clearly never done any of the exploitative activities that have been readily available in the game to make money fast...

I would be willing to bet that if it were possible to retrospectively apply this measure all players, there would be a negative correlation between the rate of accrual and time in game before quitting.

Maybe, but Achievers are just another player type, just one that's not talked about as much because it can easily be seen as bragging (or shameful if the stats are not considered to be good enough). Achievers are target driven & naturally competitive.

Take the bartle test, see what kind of player you are ;)

In return I'd argue that accrual rate of credits is only one way you can measure achievement.

Of course, but given that we buy the game with a single payment (rather than a subscription) time played is irrelevant, the only truly useful metric is whether the player enjoys the game.

Some are target focused, ED appeals to those players by offering lots of opportunities for personal goals. Most games do. I enjoy setting myself a huge target & working out how to do it. I got triple elite within a year, I took a combat corvette to beagle point, and plenty of others. I enjoy that stuff.

You could argue people play for longer when they have the ability to do what they wish

Credits have some use, but there is nothing in this game that I consider to be an actual achievement that wouldn't remain through an account reset...I'd still have all of my experiences and skills I've accrued over ~6k hours of active play.

I wish to experience a plausible version of the Elite setting.

Calling mental insanity experience and skills is a stretch. 6k hours of active gameplay? That's plausible, 35 weeks of gametime is probably around the top 1% of game time for players assuming you can weed out the people who are afk all the time.

I've been all over the galaxy and have well over 12 weeks of gameplay and that takes a certain amount of insanity and more importantly, masochism. To think of the kind of self hatred needed to even double that (or in this case triple that)....i just dont know how you haven't made the news yet for some horrific facebook/twitter suicide story. It would be like how i was playing when I was fully invested in powerplay but if i had not stopped ever and was still going at the same pace 3+ years in. I just can't imagine it. Nuts.

Been playing the same Cmdr save since Gamma (late 2014/3300), playing a couple of times a week for several hours per session. I have no idea how many in-game weeks that is (can't get into the game to check as beta is still installing), and I wouldn't even know how to guestimate my credits per hour.

Still, I made Federal Admiral last year in the auxiliary navy. Now got about 310 million and a grade 5 engineered Federal-requisitioned Imperial Eagle. That's all.

I give a lot of money away as political donations to Federation factions though, what can I say?

I might sell the Imperial Eagle for a Chieftain, but only if the Chieftain lives up to my expectations.

One commander
One ship
One adventure

This is probably the most presumptive string of personal attacks I've ever read on this forum.

The very idea that I would have a Twitter or Facebook account...I think I'm going to report your post!

~25 hrs and about 10mil in cash and assets.

400k p/h LOL

Admittedly, most of that was at game launch when space was much harder and the kids had more respect! ;)
