Two accounts Two Betas?

I have two accounts. one ordinary one on steam. Can I get two Betas?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can log in to either account using your choice of PC "client," since the "Steam" launcher is exactly the same as the "ordinary" launcher, only you have access to the steam overlay as well. I'm not positive, since I didn't buy it again on Steam, and I purchased my secondary account directly from Frontier.

Can confirm that you can log into any of your accounts from either launcher. Before I knew you could do this, I used to have 2 copies of the game. Now I just have the one which works for both accounts.

Q: Why does it have to re-download the game again? Can't the game just connect to the beta server?

Also where does it store it? My SSD is limited on space.

You can have one copy of the files and switch logins in the launcher. But you either have to do it in two different windows user accounts or you will be asked to validate (copy/paste the verification code from email) every time you re-log

That might depend on which OS you have. I use windows 7 pro and I only had to validate each account once on the launcher.

I can log out from one and log in as the other one without additional email verifications. I do it regularly. Only time I've had to revalidate is when they bring out a new launcher version.

Other OS might have additional security features that mean you have to re-validate every time, but Win 7 Pro definitely doesn't.

Of course, if you want to download 2x 16Gb...

I dont.

You don't need to download two betas....

Just log out (don't log out machine, though) and log back in with your other email... Then when you load the Beta, you'll be in the Beta with your second account.

*This is assuming PC.

This is not true... You only have to validate with code if you select LOG OUT FROM MACHINE... (as I mentioned above) Heck, it says so right there in the tool tips.

I have 4 accounts/profiles, and so the game is installed 4 times, I download the beta once, then copy it into the other 3 installations of ED, which is K:\Frontier\<CMDR_Name>\EDLaunch\Products\ :D

This is correct. A one time, I had ED installed twice (my second account/profile is on steam, so it was different from my other 3 accounts/profiles), and the other 3 were swapped by going to Options > Log Out on the EDLauncher. I did not need a verification every time this was done (which could be up to 3 times a day), because I had not selected Options > Log Out Machine

Note. My steam account version of ED, is now used via the normal retail EDLauncher, and works perfectly fine if steam is not running on my PC. ;)

Then something must have been changed.
Previously if you logged in with a second account on the same PC (and in the same windows account) you have been automatically "logged out from machine" on the first one
