Can someone PM me what to write in a recorded letter that I can send to the office, I'm fully prepared to go to the small claims court.

PM sent.

I personally think the game is fine but I am happy to help you, as no one should be trapped into a product they are having trouble with.

I have already requested that this thread stay on topic.

If it continues warnings and or infractions may follow. It's entirely up to you.

There are proper channels to make a complaint to a company through.

I'll repeat the email support@zaonce.net

So please can we get back on topic and stay there?

Thanks

lol

Never mind the fact that he's seemed to have enjoyed the game...

and had reasonable use out of it...

oh look... the sight of a legal 'case' failing...

Meanwhile, in other news, back to Outsider... T.j. how dare you doubt his DBOBEness, shame on you!

I think the pain was such that it'll never be revisited... However I wouldn't bet against elements appearing in E : D in some shape or form...

Whats the point of this?

What's so amazing about ELite in its current state? I am personally a P.beta 1 backer but i don't see it as the holy grail yet.

I was also a PB backer and I thought PB was horrid! In fact I hardly touched it because I didn't want to get bummed out on a ropey beta before the production release. You know we all like that new car smell? Well I also love the new game smell.

I am pleased to see in this new beta it's:

- Stable
-More to do (although it's just more of the same, I concede that)
- I am sure the graphics are improved, because I thought they were 'meh' in PB but I am really quite into them now
- Sound design seems improved also
- A general feeling that I am in the Elite universe I know and love. Whereas in PB I felt it was just a bunch of different and rough modules put together in a proof of concept

It's not a holy grail but I do consider this beta very much shows me that FD are going the right way. There are a few things I do not like in this beta and I hope will change, but the spirit of Elite is alive and well IMO.

It does not say 'not for everyone' when your buying it, maybe a refund for those who don't like it?

Or, you know, before people buy a game and later regret the purchase, they could go and get informed on the game through the many different channels the internet offers nowadays before spending any money. With people sharing actual, uncut gameplay on Youtube and Twitch (and not some flashy edited trailer), people discussing their first hand experiences on forums and reporters writing articles on numerous gaming sites, I find it hard to believe that a relatively smart consumer wouldn't be able to get himself an informed opinion on the game before purchasing it.

I don't think any developer should just hand out refunds to individuals that aren't satisfied with the game, unless they purposefully lied / delivered an unplayable mess of a game. I don't see this apply to ED, so why should Frontier offer refunds? It's not common in the entertainment industry to get your money back if you didn't enjoy a book, movie, concert or CD, so why should it apply to games?

It is actually the law in the EU since June 13th, that's why.

I personally think the game is great but due to the inability of individuals to verify what they are buying before downloading in cases of Steam etc, this law has been introduced to cover all transactions happening in EU jurisdiction. To be honest, whilst I think ED is a great beta experience, the industry as a whole has brought this upon themselves with a lot of anti-consumer practise. Steam being the very obvious example.

We have been asked to keep this on topic, which I think is fair enough. So if you want to know more please PM me.

i'm glad Elite D is getting more and more coverage, and that Eurogamer is seemingly understanding what it is ED is bringing to the table, and that we have plenty of room for other space games too, since they aren't a like.

Also i see some people who are very negative about the game, but in most cases, if not all, they haven't done their home work on the game before venturing into it. Because the game may not be for them, and they would have known so, had they researched it beforehand.

Also this is beta1, it just started, after premium beta, which is more like an alpha i presume, the full game hasn't been reached, i believe people buying the beta, should probably first be given a refund, once the full game is officially released, if their problems with it then still persists, sure, let them get 50% back.

some customers seem a little too entitled these days i fear, even when getting free stuff, people often complain, it just baffles me.

any way, i love the game, glad other game sites love it too, i've heard giantbomb will be doing quick look or preview on it too, so looking forward to that, although i hope they understand what they are getting into.

Who is we and why are they watching?

Yeah, but why is a mod telling people they have rights to refunds?

That could put a digital download company out of business.

I don't think the mod said that... They just pointed you in the correct direction....
