Dove Enigma UA bombed, preventing completion of its voyage in time for the man it was named for.

I just want to say that The Winged Hussars have a T9 parked and fully loaded with Meta Alloys. We kept it as a precaution in case our CG station was UA-bombed during that event. Luckily that never happened and the T9 is still there, filled with MA.

We will be donating all those MA's to help preventing the attack on DoveEnigma.

Hey,

I just wanted to step in and leave a quick post.

I understand that players are upset by the actions that have been taken. It's important to know that we are also upset and do not condone the actions of people trying to tarnish a fantastic and worthwhile community event. However, I would also say that calling out members of the community team as not being bothered is also very unfair.

Paige was the person that took the concept and worked with development to try and support a fantastic community initiative. She is equally as invested in the success of this voyage as the hundreds of Commanders taking part.

I understand that emotions can run high when actions are taken in such a way. But please do understand that this and the many other memorials that exist throughout the galaxy are a way of Frontier and the team celebrating and supporting the community to give them a permanent in game reminder of their loved ones. We are very pleased to be able to add these memorials in game as we feel this small service is of great value and comfort to those who have lost friends or family.

I think that by trying to shine a light on this issue, you are misunderstanding the level of thought and consideration that goes into making memorials like this possible and the care that the whole team have for our community.

On this specific issue, as many people have mentioned, if the shut down has happened because a player has used legitimate game mechanic then we would be looking (and supporting) Commanders using in-game mechanics to reverse this.

We are currently investigating to ensure that this was indeed done through legitimate in game means and not an exploit as well as other comments made from the Community. We will let you know once we have finished investigating the issue. In the meantime, could I ask that we remain considered in our responses and please refrain from directly targeting any member of staff for a game related decision.

Many thanks,

Zac

With deep respect I have to tell you that you are wrong this time.

On this occasion we are talking about someone who may be approaching the end of their life.

We can't, any of us, equate that with a game.

This poor fellow is using an electronic means of communication to hang out with people as best he can.

Please, don't allow people to pervert what you have built and use it to inflict further suffering in him.

In short, for the time required for them to complete this endeavour simply render the station static in terms of state changes.

There is a right and wrong on this one.

Respectfully.

The Gnosis Proposal

Don't know if someone else already came up with this idea, but if FD doesn't intervene, we have to find another means. It can't stay that way, and 26k ly is a very very long way to go.

But there is one ship that can cross that distance in the blink of an eye:

The Gnosis.

The Gnosis is currently moored at Taygeta, close to the Barnacle sites and one jump from Darnielle's Progress, helping at repairing The Oracle and Titan's Daughter. Current schedule is that it stays there for a week and then jumps over to Electra. Well, it's a noob's thought for shure, but what if we filled up some Cutters, T-9/T-10s, Condas, Pythons etc. with Meta-Alloys (could even be organized as Teabagging(tm) event) and then have everything safely shipped over to wherever the Dove may be at the time, ending up in a community repair festival that will be remembered for years to come, and there also could be a decal. Don't know if that's possible, the Gnosis flight plan would have to be changed etc. etc., and I'm no representative of Canonn or anything, but it would further add to their fame. Gnosis jumps on Thursdays, but possibly FD could arrange something earlier.

Think such a thing would be epic, and well fitting the cause. O7,

Apparently I’ve already given you too much rep today. So have some text-based rep instead. +1

I didn't want to leave this thread without first saying how much I admire everyone that is dropping what they are doing and rushing out to help out in this event! That is indeed admirable! And for every jerky comment I have read here, there have been six that were inspiring!

Unfortunately, I am unable to engage with the game until tonight, but I am going to follow suit and try myself to make a run out there, despite never having been anywhere near that region before.

Good luck everyone!

And hang in there Dove E! Far more folks understand and support you than those who don't!

I'm pleased to see that you're willing to join us in helping. It almost makes you look a little less of a .

Brilliant.

Exceptionally well-put.

Now that’s the sort of emergent content I can get behind.

Sheepishly raises hand

So, um, how many metal alloys does it take to repair an "infected" station? I honestly don't know. Is the scale of this response a statistical need or a show of moral support? I have no problems if it's the latter, I'm just curious.

Loving the idea of the Gnosis. Won't stop me jonking out there with the DBX, only 28 tons people, but every bit helps.
It's also has the advantage that by the time I get there - I should be or close as durn it to Elite on explorer, as well as being a race between me and the other half (in his Asp X).
