Large doses of caffeine, raspberry ruffles and dark chocolate, fairly large quantities of jolly old mummy natures finest pain relief and the odd bargain bucket from KFC at 2 in the morning when ye ran out to get smokes and red bull and come back with a box of chicken wings and two litres of milk cos they only 99p at the all nighter.

The ship runs on fairy dust that is collected from every second star to the right on an all night bender to get through till dawn ^

According the Wiki, it is Hydrogen converted into Helium by the ship's power station

Yup.

Yes the power cores are Fussion cores, They heat Hydrogen into a plasma state and then compress it to create fusion converting Hydrogen into Helium. This process creates a 0.7% loss of the mass which is carried away in the form of kinetic energy or other forms of energy, such as electromagnetic radiation. This is harvested by the power core and used to power the ships.

Im fact when the Thargoids attacked the human space stations in the pleiades we got to see inside a powercore. This is a tokamak fusion generator.
The walls are superconducting magnets which twist, compress and spin the plasma at super heated temperatures allowing for fusion to take place.

All ships in Elite are powered by Sandro Sammarco's slightly unsettling manic energy.

J/k, love you really, Sandy:)

Gumdrops and ice cream.

Or hydrogen. One or the other.

Ah, I love tokamaks. Such an elegant concept. Hopefully one of them will break even someday soon.
