Question for forum veterans

Yep, Space Legs is probably the thing that crops up most often (both as threads and in non-related threads), as a single feature. I've also noticed it's one of the most often talked-about feature that newer players ask about. I know it was one of the first things I asked about; "so, when can I leave my ship?"

I'd say Exploration/Discovery/Scanning requests are another big one, though they aren't often threads themselves, the general wish for more/better exploration features shows up a LOT. From things like working out a better way to mark mission POI's in space and on planets to a more satisfying deep-space exploration feature that's not "jump-honk-jump-honk", while it's a broad topic, they generally all relate to "a better way to look for and find stuff".

Then there's a few people looking for Raxxla, that's probably the third most talked about feature in the history of Elite, ever. Though that's usually the same people going round and round in circles and quoting Robert Holdstock... :D

Fried chicken legs and buffalo wild wings.

More atmosphere in the cabin. It is kind'a dull in here right now. Some color on the walls would be nice.

Then we need some drinks and the party can start.

A jump range of infinity and beyond, and the ability to stack 200 missions and haul either 5500T of cargo or 500 passengers, and to dump passengers off on random planets and watch them scurry around like rats. Use of missles in supercruise, hyperspace jumps that sometimes put you 30K LY away from your intended destination, wing walkers on the Vulture... and a sasquatch near the Qwent base.

I think you miss read the OP. It's about Elite Dangerous, not Conservative party politics.

Sorry but I think you’ll find out that it’s all party politics that end up

more for me
less for you

just ask South Africans or Venezuelans or Russians or the Chinese

however what i would like is, for the top of the pyramid to be much more controlled.

if i rock up to a system and say "I will take 600 tons of your finest imperial slaves please" I want them to say, sorry sir we do not know you, you have not helped us, we do not have enough for you..... here, have 22 tons and be gone with you.

and i want the same to be true all down the chain.... so, instead what would happen....

the bottom of the pyramid - food from agriculuture - no limits here, I take this to an extraction economy...., sell that and buy a boat load of ore, which i take to a refinery, there i take a boat load of say Aluminium, to a hi tech where they will sell me computers, which i then take somewhere else and then they give me the full amount of imperial slaves which i can then take to agricutural where they will work.

(i am making up a route off top of head here, which may not actually work, but you get my point)

rather than A B A B instead we get A B C D A.

That was just an example. I'd engage you on this but then I'd be going offtopic.

Bottom line I'm of two minds about it. Yes that does seem like an interesting idea but it does have it's drawbacks in that what if players WANT to be dedicated haulers of something.

From my own observations, things that are commonly requested, and are not being addressed by the current 3.0 beta, are:

- Orrery map (3-d zoomable map of solar system, rather than / in addition to current stylized system map)
- More "meaningful" exploration (more than just honk-scoop-jump)
- Ways to actually find the things that FD have hidden throughout the galaxy (rather than people randomly stumbling into them or needing unsubtle "clues")
- More "meaningful" trade mechanics (genuine supply-and-demand)
- Way to formally pledge or align with minor factions
- Way to formally pledge or align with Superpowers
- In-game way to manually adjust HUD colours (without needing to hack the game files)
- More ship types (especially ones specifically designed for specific tasks rather than multirole)
- Unarmed shuttlecraft for the fighter bays (to allow pilots of big ships to visit small-pad-only outposts)
- More SRV types for different missions (eg. tanks, cargo-carriers)
- Landing on atmospheric planets (with weather)
- Landing on Earth-like planets (with lifeforms)
- Submersibles for exploring oceans (either srvs or entire ships)
- Building and decorating some kind of player-owned "base" (as an end-game cash sink or for, at least, storage of cargo/modules/mats and refuel/repair for explorers)
- "Space legs" or "Elite feet" (for walking around spaceships, stations, planets etc)
- NPC crew that actually sit in your empty chairs (whether or not they actually do anything)
- NPC wingmen (either permanently assigned or mission-based for "defend/escort" missions)
- More meaningful player interaction with Alliance (eg. Alliance rank/title/medal system)
- More perks for loyally supporting minor factions/Superpowers (eg. reduced prices for goods/repairs, special missions, special access to illicit goods)
- More long-lasting consequences for negative actions (eg. run Missions against Empire, Empire generally becomes less trustful of you)
