The waiting for Q1 to go live...

Hello Cmdrs,

Well, like many others, I'm waiting for 3.0 to go live. I've flown my ships back to Jameson's Mem (from Colonia) a week ago so that I can get on with the re-engineering when it does.

However, I suspect I'll be late to the party. I had a discectomy on Wednesday (removal of a prolapsed disc) and I am currently laid up at home convalescing from my surgery. I'm not expecting to be doing very much for at least 4 (probably 6) weeks while my back heals. I suspect that Q1 will have gone live long before then...

However, I get to play the forums for the next month instead! :p I'll be eagerly awaiting your posts on all the new features!

I can't wait for the aChief and have come around to looking at the new updated engineering.
Its all looking good for this update, with all the other goodies too!

Hope you get well soon and enjoy your forum-fu!

I've got to admit, this update has way more things I'm interested in than the last couple of patches! Looking forward to getting my hands on it!

I'm calling it; you'll be recovered by the time 3.0 goes live. :p

You think it will be that long?

Hope your back heals well buddy. It'll be slow progress, but you WILL win. In the meantime I'd recommend planning your next ship. The Chief is at the top of my list ;)

Thanks for your good wishes! I hate being laid up like this!

I was disappointed with the Chieftain. Only 5 internal slots so useless for exploration. If they converted even one slot it could become doable. The weak Shields (size 5) was also a downer.

Still considering the T10 for a play around. I'm not into Goid bashing (I never got over the AX missiles thing) so I don't have much use for it (I have a Cutter which is a gorgeous trader ship).

Hopefully, one of the new ships during the year will spark my interest! [heart] (It won't be the Krait).

Out of curiosity, what feature particularly lights your fire in 3.0? :D

Honestly, none of it... or all of it. [where is it]

What I mean is, usually most updates do have a specific thing that I'm interested in.

This time, I'm just kind of curious to see how the game-world changes in general.
I'm a bit worried that C&P will screw up combat and that the new engineering stuff will change things for the worst but, then again, whatever happens it's good to stir things up once in a while.

As I said before, it's kind of like waiting for a tornado to hit (without the risk) and then seeing what state everything is in afterwards.

Best wishes on your recovery!

I'm also very much looking forward to 3.0 - I mostly play on the console with a group of friends and I'm looking forward to trying out Wing Missions.

best wishes and good recovery. the back is a serious "module", better be patient than sorry. but i'm sure it can be arranged so you can comfortably hyperjump from your bed, will help the time pass and get you closer to the bubble.

Good luck with your back Cmdr, enjoy the Diazepam ;)

Buy an X-box controller and go exploring, take a bunch of 'before' screenshots. If you're still in dry dock when 3.0 is released you can go back & take the 'after' shots :)

I do hope you didn't have to wait for fours years before they decided to give you surgery, adding to that I had a 23 degree sciatic list when my disk went...backs still not right almost 10 years later, on a more cheerful note I think when it does drop it might bring me back into the game. :)

Had similar 3 years ago with 4 month in bed....! I was playing a lot of Mechwarrior Online at that time...:-D

Get better soon!

I've been making a little money here and there to buy the Chieftain, and maxing out data and mats to make engineering it go smoother. I probably won't fly any other ship for a while. I really liked it in the earlier beta, and they buffed it! The fools! Hahahaha. *ahem*

So yeah, just twiddling my thumbs. :D

I spent a bunch of materials getting the higher optimal mass secondary on some size 5 shields to go on the trade Cutter. I have 2k shields on a g4 thermal mod on size 5 prismatics.
I did this now as they said in the live stream that this mod won't be available straight away in 3.0.
Now to restock materials.
I'll be gathering as much g5 stuff as possible.
With the increased module storage I'll be looking to sell the ships I don't use.
When 3.0 lands I'll be deleting all the book marks for the road to Colonia and finding all the Tech brokers I can and pinning the ones that sell unique items and unlocking all the weapons.
If there's more Guardian stuff to uncover I've told myself I'm going to stick to doing that with the odd break for improving my PVP skills.
For this I'll be needing an engineered Chieftain.
With luck this will tide me over until the next update.

Hi Susanna, I bet you wish you were on a low gravity world at this moment. Get well soon :)

Personally, I've stocked up on arsenic, chem manipulators, datamined wake doodahs .... just so I can max the FSD on my T-10 ready to go off and explore in it for a while and enjoy the new planetary visuals. [heart]
