I love the game but FD ignoring 95% of folks and caving to 1% makes me want to walk away.

This thread was started as the OP was upset about the Type 7not getting the bigger FSD and is blaming some mysterious 1% that used some magic power to make FDev change it back.

A Change made in a Beta
A Change that when brought to the devs attention, the response was "Hmm that shouldn't be, that was not the intent, we should fix that"

It was an Error in a Beta build that was fixed in a Beta

If you genuinely think it was intended and FDev back peddled due to pressure from some super powerful all controlling 1% of the Player base, where is the thread demanding the fix, I mean deliberate nerf to punish you, that stopped Engineering effect stacking repeatedly. Surely you deserve Thruster and FSD Optimum Mass Multipliers in the Thousands, and it is just the 1%bullying FDev that made them Fix the bug, I mean nerf the game for the 95% the cant play without a 1600% FSD Optimum mass Multiplier?

Fixing a Bug, or correcting a change made in Beta, is not caving to pressure.

Just as you not getting what you want, caused by some consipracy

I am all for longer jump ranges. I am also for auto-pilot doing jumps (not supercruise though). I don't like travelling. Maybe that's my biggest problem with the game... needs so much jumping all the time... really would love to automate that. I mean going from bubble to the Pleiades and back again... it takes time and nothing happens in that time and I don't watch netflix, rather would like to read a book, while ship jumps or take a nap or prepare dinner...

I think you're confusing me with someone else.

I never complained about FDev correcting the mistake with the Type 7, nor did I object internally. Might want to look at some of my previous posts in the thread on the matter before jumping to conclusions there.

We need a graph, or a chart, that is what we need, but what we mainly need is a bunch of elitists, better than though so only my opinion is important, etc, folks to play the game their way instead of trying tio shut down anyone who plays the game differently than they do.

It reminds me of the time whilst out in a system that was dark and lonely, and black, and my new crew member said "I'll be glad when we get back to the bubble, it is so eerie out here and I'm getting scared."

I looked at her and replied "You think you're scared, I have to fly back by myself."
 
Frankly i don't care what you want it what you think. An ms using words like "you clearly" and "i feel the same" and "i feel more" doesn't make you sound more interesting or more "expert" on this forum.

You're entitled to nothing in regards to game play development.

You don't own the game, the 5%ers bullying the other 95% don't own the game studio SO mind your own business.

And this total absolute red herring "minimize the space" again it's all in your mind and it mustn't concern you how others play. If ships were to have infinite jump range then nobody except you 5%ers would cry and moan. The solution: you go at it at 223m/s and everyone else jumps anywhere in the galaxy instantly.

So why do scared that someone can jump from galaxy edge to edge while you can take the slow rute.

I played freespace 2 and loved it cause of the open combat and subsystems targeting... Taking on a massive capital ship and fitting off enemy fighters... Now i find the game, pay for it and now I'm forced into starting to dislike it ?

Frontier Devs should take notice cause the game need new players, every game does, this let's accommodate to 5%ers isn't on at all and isn't sustainable as a business.

People pay games cause they're FUN first and foremost not cause grumpy mcgrupmyface ruins the fun.

I've been playing for 1 week total, 100% in solo so i can get a grip on the controls and systems, targets, landing etc... And i really don't look forward to playing open.

If these 5% ers want it tough, fine, and us 95% want FUN, then tweak the system to create incentive.
Put a 1 million minimum increasing to 50 million or 50 % of attack ship value(whichever is bigger) bounty on anyone attaching players in open.
They want it tough... Make it tough... See them start a PvP aka illegal assault when they have to later face 5-10 new players going after that 50 million bounty... 10 new players in sidewinders after 1 fully loaded anaconda will really make it interesting.... Make it 20... Still 2.5 mil cross for a bit of team work.
Also the ships... There's got to be a better divide between fighters, scouts and freighters.
The anaconda with more cargo space than the biggest freighters ?
Freighters should have at a minimum 1000 tons cargo for the cheapest ship life 50k credits, and then up to 20.000-50.000 tons cargo if they cost millions and tens of millions. Then you make then slow like 50(fifty) m/s cruising and make them unable to dock anywhere but instead force then to refuel only via stars and make it take 20 minutes and required after each jump.. Jump range 20 ly basic, up to 200 ly max.
So now you know your able to carry a lot but you're a slow moving target... So make then have 10 shield slots plus 3 shield boosters.
So now all these 5% ers tough guys can go after a real target, slow I've but tough life a fortress, and if it takes 15 minutes to drop the shields and then there's the local police and other players joining in on the defence to get a slice of that 50 million bounty.
Though enough now ?
That's a real engaging scenario....or get today's biggest cargo ship, the anaconda, with 700 tons, and have it destroyed by another anaconda... Wow... But hey... It's open play... Look at all the glitter chucked onto the open play word.. It's like magical and stuff.

It's almost like you are deliberately trying to put all the trigger points in 1 post regardless of if relevant or not. I.e what has jumprange got to do with open or solo?

I agree long range travel is not fun imo. The answer imo is to MAKE it fun by adding complexity and detail to it, not to reduce its relevance. In a game where the main feature is the size of the milky way and where one of the core design principles is being an irrelavent spec in a vast lonely universe then travel is always going to be a large part of the game.

TLDR FD need to make travel more engaging not trivialise it

Do you know anything about the game you bought.? If not I suggest you watch the 10 or so dev diaries as well as the Kickstarter pitch and maybe the design decision archives.

There is a lot of stuff missing which I still pray will make it one day but they do give the vibe of the game FD are aiming for...... And that is why some of us get rather defensive when players come in demanding FD destroy that (more than they already have imo)

Yes there is room for compromise..... But that is a 2 way street. Engineers have massively increased jump range and the neutron star highway also made big difference.,.. but if some have their way it won't stop till we get fast travel :(

PS you seriously need to learn about subjectivity and objectivity. We ALL want ED to be fun even these so called 5%ers that you made up. Your fun is just different to mine
