That's a really poor reason for the premiere large warship to have the lowest dps. The jump range is at least consistent with all other fighters. It's funny though, multi-crew and powerplay won't get attention if it's not popular. The Corvette won't get attention because it's too popular. [wacky]
Popularity goes both ways, it's not whether it's more or less popular than other ships (or features), but against how popular it is expected to be. More popular and less popular are both justification to adjust stats.
With the Corvette for example, it's a top tier unlock, so if lots of people own it, or unlock it quickly, that suggests it might be too easy to unlock, and vice versa. If a bunch of people unlock it but don't use it, that suggests it's not good enough in some way, but if a bunch of people also unlock the Cutter (broadly equivalent competitor) and don't use that either, it suggests people are looking for something else (eg FDL). It's all interlinked but we don't know where FDev thinks they should sit, only where we each think stuff should sit.
I think trying to game a holistic system based on a throw-away line in a live stream is short sighted at best. Just play the game imo.
