To be fair, CIG haven't even promised to fulfil all the dreams of backers. A lot of what the backers are dreaming of has never even been talked about being done by CIG.

On the other hand, all it takes is for a backer's wishes to reach the ears of CR, and overnight it will be added to the scope.

Dear Santa Chris,
For Christmas I wud rely liek it if I cud hav a farm on teh moon.

P.S I am being a rely rely gud boy this year!!

Playing kingdom come deliverance solidify one fact, cryengine is so bad at dealing with complex stuffs like simulation, in that game somehow a pitch black night can be heavier on performance than daylight. There also many weird instances where frame rates just plummets for no reasons.

Thats a bizarre topic. But it does highlight that to many SC fans SC isnt about space, space is just a backdrop for an alternative life simulator.

Yes you could round up your cows into your cutlass then drop them from 1k up and drop them into their pen and they would most likely survive the fall :)

There is truth to that. It's good for making many cutscenes, but not quite the framework for "sandbox" open world with many choices.

That might be because 'lights' being heavy on the engine. Always the draw distance of lightsources have had a big impact on framerates; but it sure look pretty :)

I sometimes wonder whether DS is actually unwittingly keeping the SC project going, by stimulating backers to spend ever more money in effort to prove him wrong!

So true, and why the project is doomed to horribly disappoint an awful lot of it's backers no matter what gets released - and will be even worse if it does try and do all the crazy stuff they desire as it'll drive away all but the most hardcore secondlifers.

The farm colony will function just fine, at least until the first griefer arrives with his Retaliator and carpet-bombs the farmers back to the stone age. Which will give the would-be farmers a chance to try their hand at being hunter-gatherers.

That's ok they can use their 8-bit tanks to shoot them down - or at least wait until the feds turn up to defend their land claim. That'll happen fast enough to protect glass domes no worries

If you make three binary predictions, and two turn out false

…the the first one still holds true and makes him vastly, almost infinitely, more accurate in predicting anything SC-related than anyone at CIG has ever managed to be, and no amount of vilification from Chris or the citizens will ever change that. It's not rocket surgery.
