Kingdom Come Deliverance

Honestly the first person I've come across with these problems. Even the hyper sensitive media hasn't reported this sort of thing.

13 hours in and just got shoved back to 10 hours progress because the save feature is borked on a completed quest. I didn't save with the schnaps because I thought the quest I just completed had just saved, it didn't. All my exploration and questing down the pan. I love this game, it's a great RPG but if even the saves are bugged. I was fuming I tell ya.

LMAO yeah, but I don't know what happened, after I uninstalled it, all it now good, well I'm gonna wait until they fix the bugs, just too buggy for me to enjoy.

I usually only buy games after they've been out for at least a few months, the worst bugs are all patched out, performance is optimized, there's a fine selection of mods around and the games frequently going cheap.

Hard to do with a game that sounds like it's right up there with skyrim, but it always means you get a better experience.

I gave up on that right from the off and installed the mods for save anywhere, better lockpicking visibilty and some console commands for giving a dot for archery and disabling motion blur.

I can't seem to get those settings to load from a 'user.cfg' though. I've tried a few locations but it never gets read in.

It goes in main game directory and make sure it's not 'user.cfg.txt' but 'user.cfg'. Works for me.

Woss with the motion blur? Does it remove some of the effects in melee combat? I mostly do the horse archer thing though, enemies just have too quick reflexes for me. Changed to warhammer, tho - with pretty good results so far.

Cant.... stop..... playing. Man this game is good.

The combat becomes pretty addictive, after a while, doesn't it? :)

It certainly does. I got fed up struggling so I spent a good few hours in the training ring with Barnard. I’m now fairly lethal even with my second character save (save 1 is for the story playing as a heavily armoured knight, save 2 is to mug off the plot and just be a poacher).

Anyone else having serious issues with 1080 TI cards and random GPU spikes from 40-50% to 98% and the fan going crazy?

Probably moving data but I get the feeling it does not utilize the memory very well.

Ye, that one? Bernard was so kind to smash my newly bought armour to pieces in no time. Thanks, I guess? :D

Pretty sure I have it in the root of the directory, the one with the system.cfg. I always have file extensions enabled so I don't think that is it either.

I didn't notice how much better the game played until I set motion blur to 0 from the default of 2. Not sure what '2' actually equates to but for me it feels better. :)

I only tried it for a short moment but please explain how it works.
You move the mouse to where you want to hit, then you click to do the strike right?
Pretty much but move the mouse too far and you untarget the enemy. There are advanced techniques as well, like choosing the direction you want to attack from then hold the mouse button. From this position you can now switch to another and let go, leading to a feinting attack to trick your opponent to guarding where they thought your attack was coming from. So much fun to brain someone when they think you are going to go an upward sweeping attack.

Yes, you choose the side from which you want to attack and the you can swing or stab by mouse buttons, but more importantly you have to watch what your opponent is doing and react accordingly by changing stance and distance.
To be honest after a while I think they telegraph their moves too much, but other than that it's great. You really have to think ahead while also reacting quickly to any changes your opponent makes.

I haven't as yet got used to fighting 2 or more opponents. What I normally do is take at least one out at range with a bow, and they rely on armour to fend them off.

I seem to remember reading that the mouse wheel will switch opponents but I never got that to work. I have to use the Shift key to unlock from one and aim at another if one tries to flank me. But it's all good fun.

You are doing the right thing. In real life, you also wouldn't want to face more people at the same time. So you either get rid of one at distance, or you need to kite them around and only ever fight one. If you get surrounded, you're dead.

Man killing an enemy is so satisfying in this game. :)

There was this situation I had to kill 2 bandits camping in the woods...

First tried to kill both by fighting both with the sword. got killed a few times. Then tried to kill one of them with the bow, he survived the first couple of arrows, both ran at me and got killed while still switching to the sword. Finally managed by creeping behind one of them and knocking him out unconscious, then killed the second by swordfighting, then finally killed the previous one while he was still unconscious. And I bet there were still more ways to handle this situation. Plenty of times I feel I could have resolved things in several different ways.

And man, hitting someone with a bow is an absolutely marvelous sensation. When it hits there is this wondenful sensation. I have never felt this joy when landing arrow hits in Skyrim, mostly because in Skyrim it's impossible to miss with the bow as you basically click on the enemy and the game makes sure the arrow gets there.

I truly missed a game where I could actually get better at something, not just watch the character deal more damage over time. And it fits the game's theme so well, as being worthless and starting to become better is the whole premise of being in Henry's shoes.

I also love the ever-present sense of fragility and danger, which encourages the player to use their head first, and skill second. Even as Henry evolves and you start getting better gear, you will only become a bit less fragile than before, mistakes or bad decisions will still be costly, and Henry will still be fragile.

Finally an RPG where I can actually feel Human, not a hitpoint sponge. The nearest I ever played in this matter was the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
