Curious - Your reaction to Cmdr Tony Curtis' Videos?

Whatever happened to Itchy? Last time I saw him he was camped outside an orbital, firing seekers at newbies, this was before the stations fitted cascade weapons.

Last ED video post is 2 years old, then he did one not ED related about a year ago, and nothing since. He got me once back in Lave with the old fire the missile at the ship with active point defense trick that automatically had the station light you up.

Then I was in a wing of four one night when we "bored" him to death in his Anaconda. Some of the most hilarious game play I've ever been involved in.

Say what you want about Itchy, he exposed so many major flaws in ED and made doing it fun. The game is certainly much improved for his having been here in the past.

I assume he moved on once ED actually patched the flaws and exploits he uncovered and it got harder and harder to keep doing the sort of things he enjoyed.

I appreciate any of the CMDR's who post videos of things I don'y normally engage in. Everyone pays for ED and has the right to play however they want to unless/until FD decides some activity is outside the bounds of acceptability.

I especially like it when a video shows you possibilities that you haven't experienced or thought about previously.

Posting videos online does a service for the entire community whether you agree or disagree with the CMDR's activities.

I appreciate the effort that players invest to open others to gameplay styles that others have not yet experienced.

I think we are all better for it.

Based on the comment on the twitch channel, Kofeyh refers to himself as "he" and is therefore male.

I think the antipodean accent confuses some people..

No reaction. Never heard of them, never seen any of them.

I don't get the appeal of watching game videos. I get why people do it - either because they really want to share something, or they really want ad revenue, and I suspect the latter to be the largest motivator - everybody wants to be a "famous" millionaire these days.

Don't factor gender into my read of others in the forum, I concentrate on the content of their post(s).

TBH, unless the OP identifies gender, it's none of my concern. There's enough evidence of bullying in cyberspace to warrant anonymity.

Not everybody. Despite my rather high rate of activity on here, I actually want to be forgotten by most people in the world.

Also, assuming it's possible, when I start on YouTube, I'm turning off all monetization on my videos. I don't want to make a penny from that project. It's about the love of the game.

Some of us just found it curious that someone we thought was a dude, got identified (possibly now mis-identified) as a chick. In general, seeing as how the overwhelming majority of video gamers are male, my guess is that most people would reasonably go with the former unless given some indication of the latter.

And who said anything about factoring gender into read? Contrary to increasingly popular belief, it is entirely possible to be aware of someone's gender without allowing that gender to influence how you feel about what they think and say.

As I said, given posts following my own, I am now completely in doubt about Kofeyh. And thus I will only be satisfied upon seeing hoo-hoos or ha-has.

RE: Tony's videos... I've watched them in the past and found them mildly entertaining. They have a schtick about them.

Which falls clearly into the former "really want to share something". And it's OK.
I know there is a huge social need to push back against any kind of grouping, claiming long-term psychological damage or some other nonsense about being grouped, but there not. Grouping is natural, and we do it all the time, even subconsciously - it's why we see rabbits, and mushrooms, and other forms in clouds. Or brains need to organize things, and that includes people. It can be as simple as "People wearing Red Shirts", or more complex systems of organization, and being organized and sorted does not automatically demean anyone.

Of course, this also does not mean that grouping and organizing people isn't always benign either, and if there's one thing people, in general, are exceptionally good at, it's misusing things to destructive ends, as it certainly can, and has been.

And I share your desire for general anonymity. I'd make a terrible celebrity, because despite being terribly nice, I am also terribly not a people-person, and crowds give me the creeps.

Yes, my apologies. You're absolutely correct in saying I fall in the sharing category.

But that's all there is to it for me. I'm not making some delusions of becoming the next PewDiePlier or whatever it is.

I already stream, and for me, it's just a chance to have a little banter with a couple of viewers, and then we all go our separate ways. :)

Quite alright, and my somewhat long response was meant as more of a general address. I'm a sharer as well. I've made more than a few videos of things that I've gone "Someone else might want to see this", and there they are. I've never gotten into long, drawn out, detailed, high-end productions, though I did take several courses in video production in college (good GPA padding courses ;-) ). And while I have had some fun making production video, I'd much rather spend my time playing Elite than making videos about playing Elite.

Well, perhaps with two possible exceptions - I still want to make the IHOP (Intergalatic House of Pancakes) video of planetary landings gone terribly wrong, as well as a little spoof on thrilling BBC Television productions, because it will be funny. But these will simply be personal entertainment I opt to share as well.

Shows how perceptive you are. You probably even think I'm a dude.

I'd fall within the sharing category too, but under the delusion people would like any videos I made ( have no skills at all in that area). :) However, I do like watching ED videos and appreciate the work that some players put into them. Thanks to any creators here.

Dude, I don't know who is anything anymore. My whole perception of the world is crumbling.

Maybe if you all send n... send some photos to help me sort it all out. You know?

Huh? The only 'Kofey' I know is a 6ft 4in Nigerian guy from my gym, with whom one definitely wouldn't mess! But then again, this forum is a bizarre place at the best of times.

Btw, I really hate it when forum names are misrepresentative of the individuals behind them.

I know; all this time I thought you were a poorly-talented cartoon actor voiced by a much cooler but now-dead actor.
