Bohemia. Today it's just Czech Republic. Czechia and Slovakia parted ways after the Iron Curtain fell.

Actually, it's Czechia - they've changed the English name officially last year I think. Nobody really noticed either :D

I'm looking forward to playing this game. I visited Czech Rep... Czechia a lot in my youth! I lived in Poland only 30 km from Czech border. They've had very cheap beer! It often made more sense to chip in for petrol, go to Czechia, get a few crates of beer and drive back to Poland. Still cheaper than buying the same amount in a Polish shop (which was cheap anyway, compared to other European countries!).

Also, I always wondered how come that foreigners have no problem pronouncing "CZ" as "CH" in Czechia, but when they see a Polish name with the same letters (Czesław for example) they all go "Eh?" :D

Anyone here had much success spiking food pots with sleeping potions/poisons?

I did that in the recon mission before you attack the bandit camp, not sure how much difference it made, this was on my second attempt after I went back to an earlier save because I couldn't beat Runt. I did find it easier on that attempt but I don't know if that's just because I was better prepared

Pretty much :)

Or "Ches-wav", as Ł = W and W = V in pronounciation. Yeah, it's a difficult language :D

Easy-peasy.

Try to make people pronounce "Přibyslav"

Or take that composer of the Witcher muzak I tried to make you listen to. Such a nice long Polish name, it'll make people despair. Wossname? Przybyłowicz? It's got that nice "prsh" in, too.

A friend of mine tried to teach me how to pronounce this "ř" sound. It's such a weird position you need to have your toungue in that my mouth started to hurt after trying it a couple of times. :D

And also, it reminded me of this gem:

Still better than Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz who lived in Szczebrzeszyn :D

(That's actually a gag from a Polish comedy "How I started 3rd world war", where this German guard asks for personal details of a Polish POW and he gives him that (fake) name and city on purpose).

Anyway! Back on topic - I have a weird problem with this game, where it cancels out my screen calibration settings and everytime I finish playing it, I need to log out and back in again to bring back the correct brightness, gamma and contrast of my screen.

It also interferes with the OBS recording software, where it seems like the input from the game is as per the un-calibrated settings, but the output still takes them into account, which means the movies I record are very poor quality. nV's Shadowplay doesn't have that issue. Weird! I wanted to make a Let's Play series of KCD and I recorded 3 hours of gameplay only to find out the quality sucks, so I need to start anew now...

Do you have it from the start or just since the last patch?

I like the books The Good Soldier Švejk, very funny and interesting to read.

Can't remember the game version I'm on, but I don't think there was any update since I've installed it, so I'm pretty sure it's definitely in the latest version. Dunno about the previous versions.

There was a patch on Monday, I think, and I haven't played since, so I was interested if it's something new. I never heard of this problem, nor experienced it. Have you checked the nVidia Experience? Maybe it's interfering if you have it set for auto optimization. Maybe it would be worth trying to roll back to previous driver version, too.
Just ideas, though.

No worries, thanks for trying to help mate! I think it's just my set up to be honest. I've had problems with it before, where it wouldn't apply the settings after Win started up. Or it would apply the calibration and then reversed back to the default settings, also sometimes ignoring the fact that "Use nVidia settings" was ticked in the control panel. It's in nV control panel btw not in Experience. Anyway, that's been fixed for a while now so maybe it's 2 different things. Who knows? :D

I'm not really that bothered as I can use Shadowplay (or nV Share as it's called now) as an alternative to OBS - and that records just normally, so it's all good.

Right, off to play it now! :D

Hope it's working for you Root mate.

I was thinking if this sells well for them they could be on to much greater things in future. Look at what they did with limited KS funds and a small team. They have really outdone themselves at least in my opinion. They could do this with many different historical time periods. Could do Roman or Greek or any number of other historical periods. Even up to modern age or futuristic stuff if their will was in it.

The main thing for them is that this sells well and it's yet another dev team out there putting huge pressure on the big money boys to get back to the drawing board and innovate. I bet even the other undisputed king on the action rpg block... CDProjekt are having a little think about their ideas at the moment.

In England there was a TV program called "It's a knockout" in the 70's where people dressed up in huge rubber outfits and fought each other for inadequately explained reasons, like Eurovision but with cartoon violence.

The Czechoslovakians were always really good, which raised awareness of the correct pronunciation. Had the Polish practiced unarmed combat dressed as rubber budgies more there would be no problem.

It turned out later the presenter was a right dirty Herbert.

Set in Czechia...but they all swear in Polish....or are certain choice expletives general across the regions?

And no...I'm not typing it [squeeeee]

Russian Cyrillic text has it as Блядь or сучка :)
