What is your biggest gripe while using VR?

SRV nausea.
Dive mask FOV
Screen Door effect

and the fact that the NextGen VR hardware is going to require a IBM Mainframe to run. my wife is quite happy with having to buy a bigger house for the Mainframe PC.

Smooth in cockpit, stuttering outside... I assume it's a texture/streaming thing.
FOV, obviously
I also agree with the nose bit tickling. That is okay one day, get-this-thing-off-my-face, the next.

That I have to take it off and Elite is no longer in my eye holes.

- the facial interface thingy tickles my nose

The foam on mine started to come away from the plastic, I'd only had it a matter of months. Had to glue it back on. Not impressed with the Rift build quality or choice of materials considering the cost.

And to add one more thing to my mini-rant - my biggest gripe is having to spend 4 days troubleshooting an issue with jitters and frame drops and having to fresh-start Windows in order to fix it. As I type it occurs to me that I really should be ranting providing this useful feedback on the Oculus forum.

I'm using a VR Cover thingy; it's softer but still tickles!

leather, they gotta offer replacement faceplates with leather covered padding, just like Samsung does.

My wife is bitkhing that I'm using her blow drier to fix my inverse Mohican hairstyle from the head strap,

Particularly in ED:

1. stuttering (its the ONLY game I have that does it, regardless of HMD/Game settings)
2. The Galaxy Map..... just make it 2D, for the love of everything that is holy....please.

As the title.
Mine is not been able to drink my tea (or other beverage) with the HMD on [where is it]
Using a straw means i can not use Voice Attack [ugh]

- The UI text is a bit blurry, some planetary surfaces as well. Option for a simpler text with less gradient would be nice.
- I wish you had the option to turn off character model and that the captain's sea had a shorter back.
- Obviously VR is still in infancy, and the res could certainly be higher

But those are minor gripes. Elite in VR is a fantastic, fantastic game. Heck, I've spent hours in it just lying on the couch listening to music after having parked the ship in some scenic portion of space. That rear window shelf in the Asp is my virtual camping bed.

As for drinking, I use a bottle. :)

Gal maps poor implementation, if they are going to leave it fully 3D it needs to support touch controllers but my preferred option would be for FD to offer the option to have it work exactly as it does in the none VR game, just displayed on a big VR screen.

I hate using it with the HOTAS, it's like using a console game controller, having to wait for a cursory to slowly meander across the screen drives me mad, mouse and keyboard sooo much faster but I know there are some masochists who lioke it so just a 2d big screen option would be enough then they can keep their version.

You can speed up the cursor moment by zooming out

Low resolution but thats not on FD.

I agree with this: Forced third person camera modes; MC Ship turrets

For multicrew weapons control i would have liked to see something first person, maybe like this:
Still sitting in your seat but sort of in a bubble like the SRV or SLF cockpit, instead of glass you would be surrounded by a screen, effectively making the ship around you transparent, with the firing arcs of the weapons superimposed, you would turn independently of the ship like the current MC setup but it would still be first person.
The current way its handled feels too arcadey, a step clear away from "always first person" like a concession to the console segment.

I have no issues touch typing, navigating the galmap using my hotas or drinking from a bottle without seeing it and consistently fail to see why some find it so hard.

^ Yes, PLEASE. I want to use a mouse to interact with BOTH maps. I have a joystick, not a HOTAS, and the map is a pain to use with the joystick.

I want to be able to see and use a perfectly working keyboard and mouse for navigation in the Galaxy and System Panels. Typing messages would be OK too.

There is a program called OVRDrop for Steam which lets you place an sized overlay panel anywhere on the VR output.
So, small clip on camera at top of monitor pointing down to my keyboard
Crop and size it accordingly
See if I can plonk it at the bottom of my screen
Perfectly usable keyboard and mouse without taking VR headset off.
How about some assistance from a bright soul at ED

Due to the forced 3rd person rubbish I only use fighters in MC - or relax in a buddies cockpit. I never use the turrets. I wish I could avoid them in the SRV too.

I know, it's still crap, I have a PC that comes with a mouse, which is about the best solution to putting a cursor exactly where you want it and then grabbing and moving things on a screen that has ever been developed, its PERFECT for using a pseudo 3D map on a 2D screen, no amount of faffing about with joystick controls, hot keys or gamepads will improve upon it.

The somewhat poor performance on my rig (45 asw pretty much all the time)
Aliasing
Screens left and right popping up and blocking my view, would like to move them down and tilted backward. (should probably just turn it off and get used to pressing buttons)

Mice & Keyboards are considered the worse input devices for use in VR. The VR HMD manufactures even discourage and recommend against there use. Faffing around feeling for other input devices while essentially blind to the real world is not exactly indicative of a great experience.

Mice are also useless 3D pointing devices...A HOTAS or gamepad configured correctly however, work great in 3D environments due to the number of available axis to the user.

That said I'd still prefer to see the Galmap on a screen within my cockpit... I hate being taken out of the cockpit.

You can get a pleather cover and new facial interface from VRCovers. It's better than the foam but still irritates your skin after a few hours.
