I'm upgrading my 1070Ti to a 1080Ti, and from the sounds of things it might not be enough......I just shake my head...how are the folks with mid range hardware supposed to cope, they have my sympathy. Time to optimize the bloat FD AND Oculus.Hardware demands, needed to do some heavy overclocking CPU @4.8 ghz, GPU 1080 +150mhz so usually I need to open window while playing ED because of the heat generation![]()

Honestly I'm surprised how well my 1080ti handles ultra settings on the Rift....
*scratches his head* I dunno, maybe because it's the best video card...
I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was a Star Citizen forum.
Seriously, though. I'm running an i7 @2.6 ghz with a GPU 780. On a DK2. Settings aren't maxed, but everything is still breathtaking. I do get the occasional judder, but turning off terrain LOD blending was a massive improvement in performance and I can hardly see a difference. While I would love to have the rig you have, it isn't necessary to run VR well.
Maybe it's the DK2 though. Lower res gives better performance?
ED on a guitar hero controller and some foot pedals...You play Elite on your guitar?
That could be interesting.
My biggest gripe is the lack of FULL VR support with touch controllers to handle everything ingame: touch screens, ingame vr keyboard, virtual controllers and so on.
Enable Target and systems Panels with "look at Panel", great feature which works very well. also free's up those bindings for something more important.Like going to contact tab to get docking permission.
