Arsenic - incredibly hard to farm

So it’s 3.0 beyond and I thought I’d gather materials for a round of engineering.
I visit a moon with 2.9% arsenic - a very high percentage so after 3 hours of roaming you’d expect a fair amount collected right? Wrong
Just 1 lousy material. Plenty of niobium however.

Anyone else finding material gathering not what it should be

Just did the planet near the Farseer engie 2 days ago. 3 drops in about 40 min roaming. I say its not that bad

I can't comment on 3.0 status of this, but I have experienced this sort of bad luck on the rolls before myself. % look fine, good even, but nothing you need ever drops in the session. Doesn't seem to happen too often but does occasionally do a great job at wasting your time. :)

Why are you even bothering? With the new system and a Raw Material trader you can trade in any G4 or G5 Mat and get 27 or more Arsenic with 1 of the higher grade mats.

The only Mats worth collecting now are G4 and G5. They can provide everything else in bulk.

I've got 250 Arsenic in my inventory and I didn't collect a single piece on a planet.

This is good info.
I've had bad luck w/arsenic. The best luck I had was surface prospecting inside a crater. I tried along the outside of the crater but had terrible results.

I sure hope this Materials Trader takes some of the time sinks away.

Quick Tips: Check out Sudi A 2.

The % drop of common materials are roughly the same, so you don't get a scenario where chromium is dropping at 15% while arsenic is dropping at 2%.

It also as Mercury, which is equivalent to 3 Arsenic at a material trader.

My last trip I got so much more Mercury than Arsenic due to RNG and being easier to spot Messodrites. Works out for me thanks to Material Trader.

Here's the funny thing, every time I go looking for something, it's like pulling teeth, but the same material is quite available when I'm looking for other stuff.

I'm headed for a spin in the 'RV tonight and free lance and see what turns up.

And Hank is correct, just before the drop I tried to top off on all grades 4 and 5, trading down is the way to go.

Regardless of the material trader: What happened to farming from Barnacle fields, Barnacle field empty, log out, log back in for a fully respawned Barnacle field, rinse, repeat? Has that been fixed?

I HATED having to look for arsenic in 2.4! :( It never spawned even on planets where it had a higher percentage!

Do yourself a favor and STOP LOOKING FOR IT! If memory serves, I believe that Antimony is the G5 raw that is aligned with Arsenic. (I did most of my material creating/trading/shuffling in the first two days of the 3.0 release and haven't been back to the traders for a while.)

Ironically... Antimony is actually easier to find on planets than arsenic! lol! I have found that most of the G5 raw materials are easier to find than Arsenic ever was! ;)

If you need locations for material traders in your areas of space, check out this Inara page:

https://inara.cz/galaxy-nearest/25/17945/

Just type in your location system and it will search for the nearest ones. Visit a Raw Material trader and get the lay of the land. Maybe take a screenshot of the chart so you can refer to it later. (I'm planning to do that next time I visit)

Gonna have a look at that.
If the ps4 doesn't keep blue screening me.

Forget arsenic. Abnormal compact emission data. g impossible to find man.

Sounds like you are not bothering to scan ships in SuperCruise. I get that one often by scanning ships in SC. I just make it part of my SC trip, just like Wake Scanning all the High Wakes in front of me when leaving a starport. Datamined Wake Exceptions have never been in short supply for me either. ;)

Scanned 100 anacondas in SC earlier with no ACE data. Sounds like you haven't acquianted yourself to 3.0 drop rates.

> flashbacks to spending 3 days for 6 bits of arsenic across four different planets....

How far we've come.

Because eventually you run out of G5's and they are harder to find. Took me one day to exhaust my G5 supply.

Anecdotal here, but...

Deciat 1A 2.2% I did a 100km crater run. Took just under 4 hours... from that I have got 30 Arsenic and about 6 or 7 hundred general materials... Highter than the 2.2% listed.
