Fdev thanks for the stellar work on v3!

Honestly I didn't know what to expect. But what I got was a polished, tweaked and well oiled game!

On my gtx1060 i7/16gb machine:

- The game runs much faster and without any crashing overall
- Planet texture loading, hyperspace and HS exiting are super smooth now
- Planet textures are exiting to look at, fly around and drive the SRV. Like playing a brand new game! One of the most important changes for me so far.
- Engineers are super fun now and logical
- So many quality of life changes - blueprint pinned limited workshop, material trader, map services/community/etc. searching etc. makes the entire experience less tedious and more fun.
- Finally crime & punishment for griefers to think twice.
- Voiced galnet
- Many annoying QoL bugs fixed, including engineer greeting voice, black rectangles around planets (still not 100% fixed but greatly reduced, compared to 2.4)
- Missions with 3 type of rewards, depending what you need the most - THANK you

So many things I still haven't tried like wings and wing missions, but so far it's like I've been playing a new and revitalized game. Thank you frontier!

I agree. This is a very good start of "Beyond".
My expectations for the next chapters are high.

Yeah, I've been digging it.

Not so sure about this part, though...

From what I've seen it's largely the PvE'rs who have had to re-evaluate their play style. The gankers keep right on ganking. And as long as massive credit exploits exist, they will continue to do so.

Not that I'm complaining. Gankers provide me with wild amounts of entertainment, and I myself am really enjoying the new C&P.

There's a lot of good stuff in 3.0, and then some bugs and perhaps some issues here and there, but foremost, I'm really glad that FDev is continuing to develop and expand on ED. Looking forward to all the other features later this year. [up]

Unfortunately, evidence is appearing that indicates FDev dropping the ball on this. 200+M credit bounties in the same system shouldn't be possible if it was working as intended. Then again, FDev was told this numerous times during Beta [where is it]

Despite some bugs (throttle resetting to 100% after every jump
My throttle only does this if I don't set it to zero during the countdown. If I remember to do it when it's counting down, it will stay at 0 when entering the new system. If I forget and try to do it mid-jump...not so much.

If Q2 and Q3 only hold a quarter of content compared to Q1 then they will still be great updates imho.
Q4 is supposedly to be the biggest, so yeah I'm pretty excited for Beyond during 2018.
My expectations for Q2 & Q3 are very low, mainly because very little has been announced for them (being mainly described as 'content updates' aka more story). Seems like most of the effort is going into Q4, and Q2 & Q3 are just 'treading water' while the Q4 work is on-going. (*)

I would love to be wrong of course. And I'd rather FDev under-promised & over-delivered (rather than their historical pattern of over-promising & under-delivering).

(* This is a bit odd, considering that the Q4 content doesn't look like 9 months of work. Perhaps a lot of resources are being diverted to the 2019 season, which I suspect will be atmospheric planets, although probably not Earth-like.)

As we don't know what is fully going into Q4 and we don't know what the new paid for DLC will be, it's tough to know whether it's nine months worth of work or not.

I'd made a post about my GTX960 dropping textures and was unsurprisingly told it needed more than the 2gb of RAM in my card. Thankfully this update has fixed that problem and the game runs on ultra no worries and no dropped textures. Cashback!

Just went to a new Guardian site.

I was MASSIVELY impressed that the "puzzle" element there had logic to it, and didn't require brute force methods from hundreds of commanders to find the solution.

Nice stuff.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
The mission rewards change is (for me) the biggest joy. Finally we can tweak our rewards and accelerate rank acquisition. :)

Voiced galnet and the improved planetary textures are close behind in my own personal top-three list.
