I have a Compaq Presario. I suppose it could be a PSU issue, but I work on the machine all day and only get the problem when I finish work replace the 2nd monitor with the DK2 and play Elite.

I should also mention I am in Spain.

That's because unless your job is bitcoin mining, you are not pushing your GPU when working:) When you use the Rift your GPU card is running at 100% and pulling a serious amount of power.

You can test this is you want with a GPU benchmark like furmark:

http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

This will allow you to push your GPU to it's upmost, if you get the same power issues as with Elite it is time for a new PSU.

Oh, and if your computer is short of power, be careful when running benchmarks, don't leave it unattended...

Ran the test and it crashed within a couple of minutes, so I guess the PSU is the culprit. Thanks everyone for your good advice!

That really sucks! I hate couriers. I was convinced mine was not going to make it but it is hear now. I am showing immense self discipline by having a nice cup of coffee before I start!

Edit, can you not pick it up from the dist centre once the van gets back? They often allow that...worth a try calling them
