Let's give something back to the noobwinders.

You sure it is wise to give them millions before they can even attempt their first landing? sure..
Personally it doesn't bother me.. millions is a lot less in real terms than it was 3 or 4 years ago in game.. I really don't understand your objection tbh..

Will make some new CMDR very happy I’m sure :) get them into a decent ride and they’ll have some overhead for a bit to learn their preferred field without worrying about rebuy for a little while anyway. If this happened to me, I’d have to name my new ride ‘Small Loan of $1Mil’ :p

There's nothing stopping a freshly-baked Commander doing exactly that, should they wish to.

I mean c'mon, would you really have turned down 50m or 100m credits when you first started playing the game
Well. I can say my reply to such would get an infraction here. I think it's one of the worst things to try and do. The games about learning skills not credits. You don't need a big ship or Credit balance to do that.

I want to donate beer and smokes (not narcotics, I'm a cheapskate) but I can't remember if tobacco is illegal in the starter systems. Get the newbies smuggling early to support their own habits and learn to fly casual. Keep it up and you'll be feshing in no time.

Set em up with a basic T-6 and a load of Onionhead.

I feel that, while Trade Dividends are helpful (and normally enough to get the a 2C FSD), advise is FAR more valuable. I ALWAYS cover the REBUY early in the advise, and try to cover the basics.

It sorts the wheat from the chaff. The smart newbies will save their new millions, and buy an E-D rated Cobra, with lots of rebuys to spare. (And how is this cheap when some backers actually have the option to start at Jameson... In a Cobra)

The less-smart newbies will blow all their cash on the biggest and baddest ship they can get, have no rebuy, die on landing, and get sent back to the Sidewinder.

Ah, back when it took me months before I was in a T6. It was my next ship after the Cobra.

An Adder is a fine vessel and underappreciated. Competent for it's size in any role and ugly enough to motivate you to get something better. This is as much of the game as I'd dare take away from someone by boosting them into a free Adder. A T6 is way too far.

Onionhead? I'm Ca$hback, not Robin Hood. :p

And the answer to everything is Cobra.
Secret of the Universe - Cobra
Unified Theory - Cobra
Roswell - it was a Cobra

Give these newbies a few more million so I don't have to hear about the Cobra again. Buy an Asp.

In the case of Elite Dangerous, Cobra is the answer to all questions.

Lol. Yeah I went the same route. My second ship was a Cobra MkIII, and I scraped and saved to get my T-6. Got that specifically for the CG out in the Califonia Nebula, Darwin Research center. That was back before long route plots and the Nav didn’t tell you about scoopable stars and when you’d run dry of fuel. That was my first >1000k ly trip. I can still remember the star system off the top of my head I had to repeat it to myself so much when plotting the several routes it took to get there. California Sector BV-Y C7 :p I miss the ole steel pancake. I’ll have to buy another one just to redo that trip. Good times :)

I was thinking the same. They’ll prolly blow the whole wad on a stock Conda and roll into a Haz Rez like Boris in Golden Eye (i am invincible!!) BOOM. And they’re poor again :p

I did a wing mission two days ago solo, and offered to share the reward in mobius in the starport. No one wanted it :S
