Griefer Warning - Guardian ruins sites

Nah, it was already fine before, it's absolutely within the game rules to protect the guardian ruins from the defilers, which I started doing when the very first one was added.
The reason I comment is seeing that he lost data and was returned quite far away. Sorry for your loss there.

That this is neither PvP nor roleplay and he's just a virtual bully and jerk should be explained to him by somebody more sensitive than I am I think.

My roleplay is none of your concerns. You make yours, I make mine, as long as it stays within the game rules. According to frontier, you don't need any reason or roleplay at all.

Great, I’ll add you to my block list and ‘defile’ the ruins in Open all I want.

I'm always surprised that the players at the ruins refuse to hire a competent security detail to patrol the skies above where they've so carelessly left their ships parked. Not a lot of smarts for so called "scientists."

Looks like open is running out of victims
Nah. New guardian sites being discovered regularly, immidiatelly becoming victims to defilers. You dont need to worry about not finding anymore victims, numbers of ruins to defile are rising fast enough.

I'm out of here. Salt was not the intention. O7

Not that often, or for long. Those who engage in this unwelcome behavior are rather quickly ejected.

It's pretty sad, really, that anyone would bother doing this. There are plenty of people in open who don't want shot at for these sorry excuses and wastes of DNA to bother.
A long time ago; as a role play thing. I sat in a cold Cobra IV, waiting in a dark place, for commanders to land and start shooting the Barnacles. I intended to kill their ships; in an effort to protect the Barnacle sites. However: No one turned up and after a couple of session of total boredom, I gave up on the idea. Not sure how close this puts me to the pond life in question today? But as a role play thing, I felt; at the time, it was a valid idea.

As an aside, I was parked at the ruins yesterday when a Mostly Harmless DBX landed beside me and sent me a message saying "Are you Dangerous?"
I replied saying "No, I'm only competent but I am Elite on my other ID, if that helps"
The DBX took off and disappeared. Obviously didn't understand British humour :)

I am having trouble understanding your logic process here. You have evidently appointed yourself Supreme Protector of the Guardian Ruins (kinda surprised you doing have that as your forum signature). But you aren't protecting anything. The players are still driving around your holiest of holy sites, bumping into the precious ruins, doing donuts on that sacred ground that the mythical Guardians once trod even after you have destroyed their ships. Wouldn't it be better if your umm quest was to be on the ground in an SRV, actively discouraging these 'defliers' from getting near the site? Oh right, if you are in an SRV they can actually shoot at you and you can't engineer an SRV can you.

Just admit it, you are a griefer hiding behind a quickly made up story to try to justify your actions, what a goose lol

That’s something I really hate about Open. People live in fear of gankers to the point of running away from everyone. I’ve cleared out supercruise instances just for flying my FdL.

That's an over-simplification, though. It's actually true that almost no PvP players complain about "not enough people playing in Open." The reason for that is because we've found that more than enough people do in fact play in Open, more than any other mode.

The only time you see PvPers complain about other modes is due to the fact the BGS & PP is so heavily skewed in favor of those in Group/Solo while effecting either in Open is at a disadvantage.

So what you are saying is that people don't really complain about that, except when they do.

Pop through Eravate in a corvette, it's like a wildlife documentary about reefs when a shark shows up.

See. Shoot them and they ask for an RP reason. Give them an RP reason and it isn't good enough.

Touched a nerve have I? lol

I have nothing against someone doing anything in the game based on their RP, but the player in question could have at least put some effort into his RP excuse, it has more holes in the story that a block of swiss cheese! As I stated, if his RP is to stop other Commanders from investigating the ruins, the LOGICAL choice of actions would be to either attack them whilst still in their ship when coming into land or attacking the players directly on the ground in their SRV's. But then empty ships don't shoot back do they ......

That's why the Asp is a nice platform for Piracy - no one expects it until you've got the tether on them.
