Open play trolls

I understand you don't get along with this guy but that's not anything to do with ED, modes or anybody here.

Yeah it does. That guy UA bombed us. For several months. Then attacked us in colonia. Thats the same guy I mentioned above.

Ziggy asked where it came from. I explained, and went into context about it. That guy and his crew did lots of things. Double Dipping BGS influence(which I wont go into). Its also one of the reasons ATR is designed the way it is right now. No more farming cops in solo instances. It was a direct nerf to some of the tactics he and other people used. But you had to do some stuff in order for it to work.

This went on for months. Then the guy tried to kill me in another game. And I got the best of him.

There is a whole story behind it. And it all started with Elite and the stupid game modes when it comes to players being attacked.

Because it proves the point. People are using it to their advantage to attack other players. He knows hed be stopped if he came out to open play. But instead because they decided to UA bomb us we had no choice but to farm materials.

Just like Doves Enigma, if the game were different people could blockade a system, use a manifest scanner on people, And actually give pvp meaning to this game besides griefing.

Or do you want it to stay the way it is now?

But it's never going to happen.

Also, not being funny but PvPers leverage everything they can for an advantage, including going to solo/pg when it suits them.

The only difference is that its being leveraged against you in an aspect of the game you don't like to engage in.

Wow, I watched a portion of that video once and thought he wass condemning the practice. Interesting.

Yep, its pretty crazy man. But the best part out of all of it. Is everything thats happened to me when it comes to the stuff I am talking about. The people I am fighting against. End up proving the points one way or another. It just kinda happens. But thats because they know whats going on. And why they are doing those things.

What Bartle says:

♠ Explorers delight in having the game expose its internal machinations to them. They try progressively esoteric actions in wild, out-of-the-way places, looking for interesting features (ie. bugs) and figuring out how things work. Scoring points may be necessary to enter some next phase of exploration, but it's tedious, and anyone with half a brain can do it. Killing is quicker, and might be a constructive exercise in its own right, but it causes too much hassle in the long run if the deceased return to seek retribution. Socialising can be informative as a source of new ideas to try out, but most of what people say is irrelevant or old hat. The real fun comes only from discovery, and making the most complete set of maps in existence.

IIRC I've guessed you were primarily an Explorer in another thread a while back. You like knowing stuff others don't :)

Yeah, i mean thats what he did the whole time. He brought himself to me. He died. And told him to go back to his private group.

He left the game after that. Went crazy for another 2 months.

Anyways have an appt to go to. Nice talking with you all. Hopefully frontier gives meaning to PVP. Hopefully frontier addresses the toxicity on both sides. And hopefully we can have engaging gameplay with player groups.

Seems I don't like people much and I'm half thinking of killing other players but never act on it......spooky.

Hmmm.... although I don't go around killing many folks, I really do enjoy taking stuff from them. Especially when they fight back. The cargo is juicier when they put up a fight. And I enjoy mucking up people's BGS, too.

What Bartle says:

♣ Killers get their kicks from imposing themselves on others. This may be "nice", ie. busybody do-gooding, but few people practice such an approach because the rewards (a warm, cosy inner glow, apparently) aren't very substantial. Much more commonly, people attack other players with a view to killing off their personae (hence the name for this style of play). The more massive the distress caused, the greater the killer's joy at having caused it. Normal points-scoring is usually required so as to become powerful enough to begin causing havoc in earnest, and exploration of a kind is necessary to discover new and ingenious ways to kill people. Even socialising is sometimes worthwhile beyond taunting a recent victim, for example in finding out someone's playing habits, or discussing tactics with fellow killers. They're all just means to an end, though; only in the knowledge that a real person, somewhere, is very upset by what you've just done, yet can themselves do nothing about it, is there any true adrenalin-shooting, juicy fun.

The guys your online nemesis/number1fan/secretly loves you I don't know which, like me and Jason Barron in this forum but with actual hostility instead of thinly veiled homoerotic subtext.

That's just down to the two of you, it doesn't mean FDEV should start redesigning from the ground up and it doesn't effect any of the other players. I seriously think he's just trolling you. If he knew (he probably does) that you are still burning with fury at his video from a year ago he'd laugh his off (US ).

Block him/report him/ignore him everywhere you can but whatever you do don't feed him.

It is now Bartle's responsibility to classify us, not yours, thank you very much.

I've seen that video as well. I think he was condemning it, dry and sarcastically. But then cropping a single sentence can be made to look like anything really.

I'm not condemning anything by either party - it's their thing.

Regardless of who said what and how, at the core I think folks having BGS wars should man up and do it in Open.
