Although I've got mine working in 1.03 I am really hoping we'll see 1.04 supporting DK2 natively as soon as possible. I guess we're a small minority though and the team have bigger fish to fry.
YAY, My DK2 is just about to shipSoooo Happy. Gonna be amazing in ED.
I thought DK2 was native in ED? Is this not the case then? Is it fully working with some extra effort on config? Or are aspects not working?
Eventually I got it running using a handy setup.
I do need Bilago's utility (Click Stop Services before launching Elite)
I set the Oculus DK2 as display 2 (Desktop Extended to it),
I set the 2nd display to Landscape (sidways)
and then I open up Elite launcher and get the game going.
Go into options, Graphics.
Select Monitor and choose secondary.
Set a GOOD HIGH Resolution
Make sure all settings are suitable to your card
Then set Oculus (Headphones) and apply.
Game appears in Oculus correctly and OFF YOU POP!
Took a lot of futtering, but thankyou to the guide I found.. I will find it again and paste a link.
Aaargh! It's ALMOST fantastic, but the screen keeps "graying out" and "snapping" the head tracking on DK2! (after using task-killing answer). It's inconsistent and random and unplayable. Is this what people refer to as "stuttering"? Any advice?
Thanks!!!!
It is tricky to get working however I found a nice way to sort it.
THe issues I had at first while trying to get it to work.
1. No movement with head movement at all
2. Rainbow effect on text and unreadable
3. black video effect like an LCD bleed and constant circle of lens flare in both eyes.

Setup guide by SlackR
1. Download the runtime and (optional) SDK
2. Set up the Rift by following the instructions ...
http://static.oculusvr.com/sdk-downl...ion_Manual.pdf
3. Make sure you update the firmware.
4. Test using the small room demo and / or oculus world using direct mode.
5. If they work, calibrate your IPD and tracking zone using the config app and small room. I find putting the camera on the back wall and moving the desk forward allows for more wiggle room.
6. If everything is cool, switch to extended mode inside the config app. For the moment keep the monitor set to primary.
7. Install Bilagos app and execute
8. Run Elite, setting graphics properties to secondary display and oculus rift (headphones)
*If trying to run other demos, then set the rift as the primary display.
*For improved frame rate, without wanting to sacrifice too much graphically, try setting shadows to medium.
A Un-officlal start stop manager is available here.
I haven't tested it so be a but careful before using.

Judder issues.

Interesting test...
Maybe DX9 is the way to go for those still with issues ... Worth a try at least

Shouldn't need to change resolution.
In extended mode I get the DK2 displaying the desktop, open up ED and, if it's on the wrong screen a middle mouse click on the title shifts ED over to the rift display (that functionality comes from an app called displayfusion - rather useful).
Headtracking and positional tracking seem to work as long as I've remembered to kill wscript.exe and ovrservice_64.exe.
hope that helps!
