A little unsure what to do now...

All right, so I don't play Elite too often, I kind of just play in spurts here and there, really makes the game feel new again each time I play, and I haven't really played much since before the release of Beyond. So I'll begin the story of how the new crime and punishment system has either got me boned, or really confused;

It starts when I come on to finally try and finish the grind to getting that sweet sweet Federal Corvette and I hear about a pair of systems good for data deliveries known as Sothis and Ceos. So, I take my A-grade ASP Explorer and take a 21 jump trip to these far out systems, away from any other inhabited systems and also happen to be controlled by the same faction. I do my data deliveries and I see it's time to do the Federal Navy Progression mission, which only seems to be being offered in assassination missions, which is all good. My ASP Explorer is not fitted with any guns however, so I use the shipyard and get my Federal Gunship delivered out to me in Ceos and take a pirate assassination mission in Sothis and off I go to bag me a Jolly Roger.

I arrive to the location on where Captain Jack Sparrow is supposed to be found and quickly head to the signal source, setting my power to weapons as I get ready to drop into the zone, "I'm ready.." I tell myself. As soon as I'm in I deploy my hardpoints, spinning around as I try and find my target. Suddenly, I see a Fer-de-Lance barreling straight at me with Michael Bolton singing in the background, at this moment, I knew this was my man. I take aim, and wait for his name to show, confirming my target, I see the name, I pull the trigger...

I fired before the scan could complete and land myself with a nice 200CR bounty. Shocked, I quickly realise my mistake but quickly brush it off for I have a fight to win, and a glorious battle it was. The FDL managing to easily outmaneuver my cumbersome brick that my dakka dakka machine is. But he soon met his demise when he crossed paths with my 7 multi-cannons, tearing his elegant ship to shreds. (Seriously, I want to thank Frontier's music team for making this battle one of the most memorable in my Elite: Dangerous career.)

I soon began to head back to the station which had issued me the mission, I soon see that I am wanted in both Sothis and Ceos now when I check the map. I arrive to the station and quickly enable silent running and sneak in and turn in the mission. I immediately notice something, I am locked out from almost every service at the starport, I quickly see my dilemma. I am in 2 isolated systems, wanted in both, in a ship that would be unable to make the trip back to the bubble, unable to upgrade it to make the trip, and unable to get access back to my ASP Explorer. So Commanders, I am here to ask for any advice on how I should resolve my issue out here, the markets refuse to serve a criminal and the coffee maker in my Gunship has run dry, I'm cold and hungry, please help..

Sincerely.

Commander Solyse

TL;DR version:

I did a dumb and got myself wanted in a couple systems far far away from any other populated systems in a ship unable to make the trip back and have no access to upgrades, fuel, or the shipyard and am unsure of what to do about it.

Try heading to Sothis Mining; if you can use contacts there you might be able to use the Interstellar Factors to pay off your bounty. No guarentee there is an IF there though ... I don't know - but it's a small orbital station - so there might be (also don't know what faction it's aligned with)

Failing that - it's hit the old self-destruct I'm afraid.

You can set the Galaxy map to look for the nearest Factor, it's under services. Make your way there and pay the fine off, then fly back and hand in the mission

Find a system that shows green on security view in the galaxy map and wait 2 hrs till you notoriety goes down, land, payoff the interstellar factor and then marvel hard at the tedium of the new C&P system. Punishing gamers for light mistakes and "How dare you try and enjoy our platform"

Gave it a shot, services blocked there too. All stations in the area are run by 'Federation Unite!' is who also holds my bounty unfortunately, self destruct may be my only option sadly.. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I'm much too far away from any Factors sadly, my combat oriented Gunship is not fit with a fuel scoop to make long journeys.

There are no low security areas near where I am, just Sothis and Ceos being high security, surrounded by Anarchy for lightyears..

If you switch to Economic route plotting in the galaxy map, will this let you get to a place where you can refuel and/or clean your bounty?

I'm not in game just now, but try https://eddb.io/station

For reference system put in Sothis.

Good old Robigo (Robigo Mines - medium pad) is 59.03LY away from Sothis. Possibly they have interstellar? It's an anarchy system. The general advice of change your route planner to economic mode is good though. There are people that have made it to Colonia in a sidewinder without a fuel scoop.

Just as a note, it's not apparently only small stations that have Factors. There's a Coriolis station in Alexandrinus system - Cabo Roig - that looks like it has an Interstellar Factors office.

Basically if you can access the system map for the given system, any station that says it has "Broker Network" under services has an Interstellar Factors branch.

Hmm, this actually gets me about half way to Robigo (Wredguia IZ-O B33-3). I'll head out there and I just might be able to get a friend or someone to bring me fuel to complete the journey, this may actually work!

P.S. Made it to Wredguia IZ-O B33-3, and now out of gas. :')

Hi i could build a fuel rat rig out of some ship or other and follow you around refuelling you as we go.....
Would be entertaining as ive played this game years and never refuelled anyone....... How hard can it be? suppose its load up some fuel limpets and chocs away....

Although i am in Work and wont be on game until after 1930 tonight
if your stuck and need the help I'll do it.
My GT is same as forum name if your still stuck later...

Good luck in the mean time...

one thing to also bear in mind that you don't have to take the first naval mission that shows on the board, there will be lots more..
just wait for a nice simple courier or data delivery mission instead.

That's incredibly generous of you! I tried looking up your name but I couldn't find you, I play on PC so maybe that's why I can't find you?

The thing OP fell foul of is clear, but it's a bit harsh. I think it would be logical if having a mission to kill a "pirate" by the authorities meant that you could assume the target was wanted!

Dunno if this helps but if OP has any FSD boost materials (aka Jumponium) as well as boosting your range per jump it also has the effect of lowering your fuel usage per jump.

This might help you in getting to a IF.

Good luck & IMO the implementation of Anonymous Access for low end "crimes" in 3.0 C&P is pants.

Oh noo.. Im on xbox...
shame that would have been a laugh.....
watch the offers come in though...
no ones going to leave you stranded....

I'm curious here.

If you're wanted in Sothis/Ceos then would self destruct simply spawn you in the next closest station (aka Ceos), or the next closest station that you're not wanted in (aka Robigo).

Costly idea...

Just to clarify, self destructing will not clear the bounty. Bounties must be paid to clean the ship. So don’t self destruct, it won’t help.
