Cargo missions in 3.0

My "Home Port" is Ohm City in LHS 20.
There are 8 factions there, I'm allied to all of them and the system is (almost perpetually) in Boom.

In 2.4 each faction usually had 3 or 4 bulk-cargo missions, which paid between Cr5m and (rarely) Cr10m and I could jump into my T9 or Cutter, cherry-pick half-a-dozen suitable missions and use them to make ~Cr20m per hour, or more.

In 3.0 there are a total of THREE bulk-cargo missions suitable for a large ship - between all 8 factions.
Each one of those missions pays somewhere between Cr600k and Cr1.2m.
There are 7 other cargo missions which require a medium-pad ship.

At the same time, there are 17 "wing" cargo-missions available, paying between Cr2m and Cr8m.

Seems like "normal" bulk-cargo missions have almost vanished and been replaced by "wing" cargo-missions.

Is this intentional? Is it normal? Do I need to look elsewhere for bulk-cargo missions?

I'm currently doing these bulk cargo missions from Friend Terminal / Mitnahas. What I see is a bunch of missions to Diaguandri, Umbila, Balante and HIP 14211. You can fill up the T9 in one round of board hopping. You will earn between 6 and 9 mill per trip if you pick up additional data missions. The ratio between bulk and wing missions is roughly 1 : 3.

I've tried to find a wing mission from one of the target systems back to Friend Terminal to avoid empty trips back - to no avail. From my point of view the ration between bulk and wing is tolerable, I think it will level out over time. I also think that the payout of wingmissions should scale with the number of cmdrs in the wing. This means if you do them alone, you get 4 times the payout. The way the payout is now makes no sense at all. But I guess we will have a nice balance sometime sooner or later :D

You're not alone. There have been other posts bringing up the same thing. I'm seeing the exact same thing in the system I call home. Lots of wing delivery missions, hardly any non wing. Hopefully the next update will knock down the number of wing missions, although I haven't read anything that actually says that's the case.

Yes these so called 'Wing Missions' are the death of solo (Open) Missions, they not only hog the Credits and amount of missions, but they hog the rare Mats and Data as well.

Give them their section, but don't decrease the solo missions in their section. EG: Like Passenger missions section!

There certainly seems to be an overabundance of them most of the time. Given we can only share one of them at a time, why does one glance at the mission board need to present the player with 30+ virtually identical wing haulage missions to the exclusion of everything else?

Snip.

Agreed.

This should have been better implemented by FDev. Lumping it all together on top of the current mission types just meant that we would see a drastic reduction in numbers of solo/non-wing missions... Creating the winged cash payday seems to be counter to FDev's usual policy of GRIND GRIND GRIND!

I suspect that it was unintentional...

when i logged on last night at my home base, ALL massacre and transport missions were for wings, none for lone-wolves.

i'm sure if i refreshed or relogged a few times i would have seen some suitable for me, but i couldn't be bothered waiting and left

---> loads of singleton missions today. serverside tweak, or just RNG having a good day?

Mission Generation as a whole is pretty rubbish at the moment.
My faction in Expansion is currently offering a choice between 8 Elite Assassination Missions. All to the same system, all require a +++ base assault to get the targets location.
That is all.

I just logged out.

My home is Jameson Memorial in S.D. and the mission board consistently offers up delivery mission to Bunda that pay 3 to 7 million credits. I've got video of one particular session where the three missions I took paid out just over 20 million, all for a 5 minute cruise next door.

Credits are still easy to come by (for now).

No problem with that where I fly.

I will make a guess that 'normal' mission pool get eaten up pretty fast and all what's left is wing missions.

If there's a wing mission for say 2000 of x to y and the rewards are say 10m credits and 5 G5 mats how are they split up come payout time if say 4 commanders provide 500 each in 1 jump? (note there how easy that is - 1 jump, mission complete)

is it 2.5m credits, 1.24 G5 mat each or 2.5m credits, 5 g5 mats each?

Everyone gets full reward, there's no splitting. And to make it worse, everyone gets full reward even when they don't contribute *at all*. They just need to be in on the mission with you before you hand it in.

The mission generation is currently really bad.

As if FDev tries to tell the players they should wing up and fly Cutters or Anacondas (or Python) - and do board hopping.

Mostly wing missions for the really big ships. Passenger missions that can't be completed with a Beluga. Cargo missions that are only doable in a Python (180t to an outpost).
Absolutely no cargo missions for small ships, almost no passenger missions for small ships.

In addition to that the effect of the new missions on the BGS is horrible - the mission giver faction and the receiving faction get INF, causing all sorts of troubles.

No issue with cargo missions and passenger missions where I fly, try some untapped systems, don't bash traditional pinjatas and don't use third party tools because everybody uses them.

Mission giver faction and recieving faction has ALWAYS gotten influence (or got influence decreased, if you attack specific pirate with alignment to minor faction). What kind of troubles? That's how system has always worked and that's why it is interesting.

I'm in a region with very low CMDR traffic and even stations/outposts with 1-2 ships in 24 hours are that way.

Not the way it is now. Not sure if there has always been an increase of INF for both factions, but if then the INF increase of the receiving faction was low compared to the INF increase of the mission giving faction.
Now the INF increase is massive (especially in small systems).
Take a high INF mission and things can get ugly if the faction receiving the mission is the wrong faction.

Well, it is ok where I fly. But as we know mission system is complex so all kinds of weird stuff will happen.

As for mission board UI....I wish there was more fluid interface to operate with contacts overall. But for short term better filtering will do.

There have always been increase, they just improved mission report to show what's happening to both factions.

So you keep sayin, but Pal where 'WE' Fly it ain't! Perhaps if you told us 'Wher You' fly we can come pinch all the Solo Cargo/Other missions.

Honestly mate, i am not (And quite a few others from this thread and other threads), not making this up, and i doubt you are, but we can't all fly where you fly can we!!
