Patch Notes Update Update 3.0.3

Anyone else noticed that the bug where not all members of an NPC wing show up as mission targets (which was fixed in the last patch) has re-appeared in 3.0.3?

So, Data payouts are still 1 instead of 3? It's been almost 3 weeks like this and still you have not fixed it? Surely, this isn't such a complicated fix to increase data payouts back to 3.. C'mon, FDEV, I am sure I am not the only player who has postponed engineering that requires extensive data because of this bug/ and or nerf.

Can you explain that please.

Organic PvP was fun. If people ran crimes for the handicap (NPC help) it was fine. Not everyone wanted is a criminal. This is unscheduled or organised. You pull a wing. You fight. You carry on.
With outfitting being disabled everywhere this is no longer an option. As becoming wanted screws you.

So now those that used to PvP are now no longer doing It. Leading to bored people murdering trade ships because no one wants to get wanted.

Not everyone turns crimes off.

Can you explain that please.

Before 3.0 C&P, there was organic PvP in CG's. You were hanging with your wing in SC and boom another popped and some big wingfight were happening.
Players running crimes ON were a bit shamed but it was not a big deal at the end.

With the new system and all the penalties and punishment. This kind of things will not happen anymore. I won't risk wasting my time jumping from a detention center if i get killed during PvP fight by someone who was using crimes ON.

So what will happen ? A lot of CMDR will now have a ganking ship while their PvP ship will stay at PvP Hub system. I personaly have my ganking FAS ready (very low rebuy with high speed/dps)
Note that ganking loadout are not viable against meta loadout. A ganking ship is only looking for weak target, zoom boom and leave. My FAS will never get destroyed by ATR or any other player until i choose to.

Power Bounties

Power bounties are supposed to be an incentive for consensual PvP during PowerPlay activities. They are meant to provide credits to players claiming them, whilst not punishing players they are issued against (such as no anonymous access protocols, no detention centre respawning and no increased transfer costs). They’re also meant to last until claimed or you leave the power. Basically, when you get one, it’s just some extra money stuck on your head that opposing power players can claim when they kill you.

Unfortunately, Power Bounties seem to be triggering some of the punishments that normal bounties do, and are not always being removed when you leave a Power. As an interim fix, we are allowing Interstellar Factors to clear Power Bounties, while we investigate the issues.

Erm, there's an issue with the interim fix - it doesn't work!

I'm at a IF station and there's no option on that page to clear my PP bounty, with zero notoriety.

This is COMPLETELY INSANE. You are telling me that because a few folks couldn't handle cleaning their ship before swapping modules that now, as a pirate, I cannot swap ANY of my modules even while in an Anarchy system without paying off my bounty? This is a complete KNEE JERK REACTION, and we will not stand for it. At the very least you MUST allow us to be able to swap hot modules for hot modules or our pirate ships won't be able to even swap in a fuel scoop for travel to our next pirate gig.

I'm not even a pirate (pretty anti-pirate, in fact) and I agree.

Before 3.0.3: Bounty! Wait around and pay it off.
After 3.0.3: Bounty! Wait around with a hot ship (can't clean it) and pay it off.

What the heck is the point of considering a ship hot at this point? What has changed? "You can't change the paintjob on this getaway car to avoid identification for the crime until you pay this guy to pay the cops the fine amount for using the car in a crime..."

This current update needs to be rolled back and FD really needs to do a rethink on how to address things, just have an update that fixes issues that folk are having.

Elite was always about having the option to play as you wanted to, it would appear that folk are no longer able to properly play as a law breaker / pirate, being a pirate is all about having to think carefully about what you were doing and where you were going, this recent spate of changes is ruining it for folks, I have never wanted to be a pirate but I acknowledge that some folk want to play the bad guy, have lawless systems where they can go to ground, repair etc, let them run the risk of entering systems with any type of security.

The grind has always been strong in ED, the current update just puts things back to bad again, I was quite happy to solo cargo wing missions, not a great chnge from the old grind but at least it provoked a bit of thought in choosing how to do them (collect goods from A, drop off goods at B, buy goods from B, sell goods at A, rinse and repeat with small missions for data drop offs mixed in to increase rep / rank) now it is back to trade loops, same old boring grind as cargo wing missions have had either distance increased or the amount of cargo to move increased to a point where the money made and rep earned is not worth the effort as it takes to long to do as a solo player. I did not mind grinding and really thought things before the current update were at least marginably acceptable, I could have arrived at a point that I was actually able to explore Guardian sites, find Thargoids etc

Way to go FD, you really have begun to screw up what could have been a really good game by enforcing such a one sided rigid view of things.

I've been waiting for certain ugly bugs to be fixed since 2.4 dropped (slowly taps fingers on table).....

Sorry Duck ... you may need a new table (or fingers) before they get fixed. But rest assured, they'll get it fixed for Elite Dangerous 2: Snowflake Edition (you have to be nice and it has no weapons).

From 3.0.3 you will no longer be able to access outfitting at any port whilst in a ‘hot’ ship, thus you will not be able to make any load-out changes. You’re required to first clean the ship by paying off fines and bounties issued against it. Outfitting services will then be restored.

Wait what? Why would some wretched hive of scum and villainy care about your bounties, and refuse your access to outfitting? This makes no sense.

Background Sim

  • Fix blackmarket availability from stations that changed ownership when their controlling faction retreated from their starsystem

This has not fixed a current Issue where Black Markets are Open in Hu Jing Te when the controlling Corporation should be closing them.

Wow, killing outfitting is again one of the moves where my head instantly cracks the table. And the floor. Down to the earth core to be honest. And that also counts towards the 1/3 material-thing at installations.

A couple of very avoidable mistakes have happened in the last few weeks. What is the real problem here? Missing ressources? Limited dev time? Dinos?

Still no NPC Power Plant fix, Fdev? I know it was an issue you guys are aware of, but you've been aware of it since the very first 3.0 BETA.

They're still trying to figure it out ... don't hold your breath, unless of course you have an A-Rated Life Support but that still might not be long enough.

Sorry but you just cherry pick some examples to make a very weak case.

A ganker is now pushed into using a less viable ship and looking for weak targets. Apart from how desperately sad that is, it suggests the new system makes it harder or less fun to gank.
Organic pvp will hardly be affected by having to pay off a bounty any more than having to pay for a rebuy.

I suspect some ppl here are not being very honest about their objections to the new rules.
