Skimmer Missions not fixed

I am failing to see a problem here...

Players are playing smarter than the game.

There is nothing wrong with that. Fdev needs to stop punishing players with nerfs for using their heads.

And beside that point doing this is BORING. Players deserve every credit of this bio waste experience if they suffer through it.

It comes back to what I have said from the beginning. Mission Rank (& therefore, payout) *needs* to be tied to Mission Difficulty.......across the Board. If you are being paid 2 million+ Credits for a single Skimmer Mission, then you should be having to kill lots of them (at least 7+), & they should be fully shielded & be able to swarm your SRV.

Ok my first reaction was "Not again".

But then I actually watched video.

First, title is wrong. You can get up to 100 m/h, if you are really, really lucky.

Second, it is basically playing game! Yes, you can lure SRVs out and sometimes skimmers don't need serv just ship very close but overall combined with bounties it is not same story as with 3.0 skimmer missions. Is just isn't.

I'd say that's fair use of game mechanics, though maybe not the intended use :)

Given the effort involved, the payout isn't unreasonable.

Yes they are broken. Factions still send you to attack their own facilities. That caused my a little trouble when I did two of them.

The good news is I raised a bug report.

I am vet and I have zero issues with way it is done in video.

This is a new account on the forums that has been spamming this same mantra all day...I tried reporting it but for some reason the link to do so won't load on my phone. Ive seen you throughout the forums, any way you might be able to help here?

Ironically I only found this video because I followed the path of your salty tears, thanks.

On a serious note though, I already knew this when I saw that skimmers were coming back but only spawning while in an SRV. I actually made a lot of money the first time round and I was using SRVs rather than missile boats then too. So I really wish youtubers would stop bringing attention to this, we already know but we'd rather the fun police didn't and fortunately both Yamiks and this guy missed the system I used.

I think you overgeneralize it.

If you think FD main issue was credits, think again why they didn't get removed. No.

Major issue that people just skipped big parts of intended gameplay for such mission. Actually using SRV is intended way.

There is no fun police. Sometimes devs just want to fix issues they see causing too much trouble. That's all to it.

I ended up rambling.
Here's a tl;dr

There is a bigger issue here. They need to rebalance all the missions, separate solo play entirely.. or at least fix board flipping. It's boring, immersion breaking, and I don't like being forced to abuse a bug to have a reasonable credit output.

Most importantly: The key to a good sandbox game isn't letting the players improve their tools... that's a good thing to have... but it's about letting them USE their tools. They need to give us more stuff to do to the world that isn't just us doing some missions to get credits and make our ships better... and they need to let players interact with each other more and create reasons to interact.

That's honestly the bigger issue. The best way to progress in this game... is to do things you don't want to do. Unlocking the engineers I need to do the combat that I enjoy... requires a significant number of hours of game play unlocking ships that I don't want to fly so I can deep dive into game play that I'm not here for.

Making tons of credits requires abusing skimmer missions. This is mainly because they have significantly higher payout than other missions.... because they're more "complex" and tedious. I don't want to do this either.

Elite: Dangerous needs the following to be what it can be:
-They need to fix board flipping (honestly, I don't know what the player base thinks about this... but I feel that Solo and Open should just be completely separate. No jumping between the two. It's silly and immersion breaking.)

-Increase reasons for players to interact
-Create more natural hot spots by putting better missions (other than CGs) around in the bubble
-Missions that cause players to be on opposite sides
-More potent/obvious trade routes

-Increase player influence on the game (Really anything that can give players larger scale goals than just making their ship better..... the key to a good sandbox game isn't letting the players improve their tools... that's a good thing to have... but it's about letting them USE their tools.)
-have events where stations are being built where players discover new things... this is more like a CG
-Allow groups of players to make their own stations (the first step towards something like this will be those new player controlled mega ships)

-Figure out a way to make an actual player economy work. I know the risks... but having some semblance of a player economy or something along those lines would go a long way to giving players additional goals and reasons to interact

No tears from me. I am just making FDev aware of it so they can fix it early before all the complainer/whiners start using it and then whine about if for the next 2 weeks about it being changed. I could give a **** how people make money. I just get really tired of all the complaining threads in these forums.
