Yea the annoying thing for me is the fact it’s such a major issue, it’s been addressed and we’ve been given no ETA on a patch. I don’t know much about coding but surely this is a simple serverside fix and doesn’t even require a patch to be pushed out right? I’m really confused as why a broken game system as important as rank up / permit missions which engineers are locked behind aren’t being given a top priority and if they are why aren’t they fixed yet? It doesn’t appear to be something that would be difficult to fix. If it was the new mission delievery system that broke it (that will apparently make them easier to spot, Cuz they was so difficult to spot on the message board lol) then just roll back to pre patch system.
I'm confused why you think it's not top priority, do you have any proof it isn't? Any proof the proper people to deal with the issue aren't all over it? And can you provide any evidence supporting your theory of it being such an easy fix? Why don't you send in this "easy fix" and be the hero of ED?
Sometimes bugs take awhile to fix, especially if you made a fundamental change to underlying systems and don't want to roll back the change. It seem they clearly wanted to make rank missions less of a problem. Unfortunately a bug came up when it went live and now they are trying to fix it and keep their new system if possible, that's my guess.
Or should they just rush out a naval mission fix because you care while not caring what else can be affected? But hey naval missions work who cares if it breaks the whole board otherwise? Is the naval rank mission code that is isolated from every other part of the game?
But yeah I'm sure FDev just said "oh rank missions? Pfffft screw those people." I imagine Braben and the whole staff with feet kicked up on the table, having a laugh, maybe a drink, or tea and crumpets. They are probably wTching the forum and even spying on people in game doing rank grinding. Just laughing their asps off. All while keeping one eye on the ticker watching the stock prices just soar, counting all that sweet sweet $$$. Makes perfect sense right.
