New Things in Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-55

PLEIADES SECTOR HH-V C2-13 : Mooramba (Station!) & Pleiades Sector PN-T b3-0 (Barnacle Forest)

So looks like Mooramba & Mentor this week .

Note that Mentor (like last week) has a Permit Locked system (Bellica) nearby, and an Ammonia World.

Also : Mentor popl 3 billion, Mooramba - less.

This thread or some new one should be sticky, so players who browse the forum know where the next attacks are going to be and discuss strategies to defend them.

Been away - could someone point me to (or post) a brief review of what the deal is with the Eagle Eye installations. Their beacons point people at Thargoid bases - what happens when you trigger the machines at those bases? Are they somehow giving us information about where the next attacks are going to occur? Can we counter those attacks in some way? Also, is there a good, definitive list of the locations of the 6 Eagle Eye installations somewhere? (sorry, I'm being lazy ... if nobody answers I'm sure I'll catch up eventually).

No kidding about the less! :)

Thoughts on doing the same approach of only strongly defending the larger population system, but evacuating the smaller one this time? (Taking into account needing FD to facilitate that of course.)

I know it's written up somewhere better, but I can't remember where. So here's a summary.

6 new installations (like CQC base type things) in the Pleaides, each one with an Eagle Eye 1-6 designation.
Each one has an unregistered comms beacon, that spits out a code hourly (decoder word THARGOID or THARGOIDS...can't remember), which points to one of the Thargoid wreckage sites.
Triggering the Thargoid Device and playing the output to a Thargoid Link will (after decoding) point to 2-3 systems, some of which are new (these used to point at other Thargoid wreckages sites).
Some of these new sites are already attacked stations, some are barnacle forests, and occasionally we get a fresh human system which is found to be swarming with non human signal sources.

First human system found this way was Huveang De. People destroyed a whole lot of Thargoids there and nothing happened.
Last week we had 2 sites, one if which lots of people killed Thargoids, and one of which less people killed Thargoids. The station where less people killed Thargoids got attacked this week.

We're having issues confirming Mooramba - may not be correct.

@Steve K

We managed to solve all except one.

One of the messages (from PLEIADES SECTOR HH-V C2-13) points to Pleiades Sector PN-T B3-0. There is a "Megabarnacle" there but the Thargoid Link does NOT point to it. It points to a "random" spot in space about 1kls big.

Proof:

Going back and forward with link yields nothing in the NavPanel. It points about 1.5kls out and then back.

General direction where it points:

The issue was confirmed by 3 different Commanders both in Solo, PG and even after restarting the game.

Did Thargoids made a typo again or? ;)

Wait till next thursday. Maybe a permanent signal source appears and we are going to see a mothership.

Awesome summary - I am now up to date! :D Thanks.

So anyone else disturbed by the fact the Thargoids have found both the INRA base that the Mycoid attack was launched from and Jameson's crashed Cobra which delivered the attack?

So we are in open warfare with the Thargoids!

I'm not at all set up for it. Is there any quickstart guide to getting thargoid-killer-equiped?

Gluttony Fang has a thread in this forum for all that kind of info https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...nitiative-and-Ship-Outfit-Suggestions-for-All

And it seems Mooramba is not the other starport targeted for attack, if anyone can work that one out (or the one Hazzu asked about) would be good. Both from Thargoid Structure in pleiades sector hh v c2 13 a1c
