Guide / Tutorial UPDATED : List of Materials at DAV'S Hope(Pictorial)

Is there a list of data obtainable from the data point? Looking for a farmable data point dropping emissions data because I need Abnormal Compact for thrusters.

Unusual Encrypted Files, Specialised Legacy Firmware, Classified Databanks, Cracked Industrial Firmware, Modified Consumer Firmwareand Tagged Encryption Codes. So far never had Abnormal Compact Emission Data from there. I had some from Encoded Emissions USS, but now just trade other stuff for them. That's the main reason for scanning that datapoint for me.

ACED are from ship scanning not from data points. The only way you'd get Abnormal Compact Emissions Data is scanning combat ships that just happen to be there and generally only in Open, though supposedly you could get them from Sidewinders too that sometimes have NPC ships flying there in Private/Solo modes as well, but not from anything at Dav's though...

Not true :) I don't remember exactly where I got ACED from before, but got it in Solo and before the brokers. Unless you mean scanning ships at Dav's Hope, but I don't pay much attention to them.

Anyhow, no, you won't get ACED from Dav's Hope, but you can trade data you got from that data point.

Does anybody know if the latest patch has fixed the game crashing when relogging at Davs?

I don't know if the latest patch has fixed it but what I have been doing is drive back to my ship, board it, lift off about 50m off the ground, log off, log back on, land and deploy SRV. Been working that way so far. I'm afraid to try to log off and on in the SRV. I don't want to be "connection error" for hours again.

Thanks buddy, sounds like a work around i can live with :D

Yeah it's possible in solo as there are some random NPC ships that do tend to spawn there and in fact theoretically you could get them from a sidewinder since they technically could be a combat ship. I have seen I think an NPC Adder there too. It's just that in open, you'll tend to see a lot more bigger player ships there.

But as you said, you can't get them from the actual base at all...

Nope, just nope. I have lots and I don't go into CZs in open - solo and PG work just fine.
I was specifically talking about scanning ships at Dav's Hope, not about getting them in general by any other method. I get them from Solo mode in USS (Encoded and Convoys) and CZ scanning and just flying around. At Dav's Hope only is what I'm referring to, where there aren't many NPC ships other than the odd sidewinder or maybe adder you can scan.

In Open at Dav's Hope you get more players with bigger ships and thus increasing the odds of scanning one to get an ACED there. Then again you also risk getting your ship shot to hell at Dav's as well since it's a hot bed right now of people.

But as mentioned, it seems people have gotten the odd one by scanning the NPC sidewinders there so it is possible, just not very common.

I should have clarified my original post better I guess...

On the subject of ships at Dav's: I see AI circling there just about every time I switch and it was only very recently that I discovered that you got a completed scan of them by viewing them in turret view - I never knew turret view did that - maybe others don't know that too and so this info might help them.

You mean, such as to pick up Shield Data...?

That's very helpful, TY. Never occurred to me before but it's going in the farming protocol now!

I didn't realise that was what you meant.

Yeah I noticed my initial post was way too vague.

I attempted to scan a ship with the turret actually, but couldn't seem to get it to work. I'll have to try again, I only quickly tried to do it once, so I could have just not been at the right angle. Will try again when I go back next time...

As you would expect, the ship you want to scan has to be targeted and depending on the ship it can be lost to your SRV sensors as it moves about (you can still see it though), so the "box" around the ship in your view will not always be shown (you see contact lost / 1 new contact in upper right). - So just track the ship in turret view - when the box is shown around the ship, select your "target ahead" key/button and wait (still keeping the ship towards the centre of your view). - The identification shows first, then its shield and hull state (on the left of your view) but you have to listen for the tone that tells you a scan is complete. Obviously if there is data detected the beep is unnecessary as you see what has been detected in your upper-right corner (written in blue, as normal).

Hope that helps, sorry if it is a bit "teaching granny to suck eggs". ;)

Either that or I was just simply out of range in the first place :)

I think that is a mistake in wording by a QA team member addressing the issue of only 1 item per pickup (fixed for PC, if it was ever a problem). Dav's Hope has been provided and updated across many patches - they would have eliminated the drops if they didn't want them to be there.
Plus Dav's Hope isn't the only place out there. There are quite a few other abandon settlements that are the same as Dav's Hope and have the same mats/terminala and works the exact same way. Why add a bunch more just the same if it wasn't supposed to be like that...

I also found (once only) the new rare material 'Chemical Storage Units' at Dav's Hope. I did several laps but only received them only once.

I found it several times. Got 16 of them at the moment. It's used for Corrosive Shells (Multi-cannons) and Flow Control (SCB)
