New Things in Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-55

Note it requires two bit flips to get the correct message that points to Lunguni. Congrats to Factabulous for the find

Original message:

Code:
    lhh hhl lhl / hhl lll lhl hhh = 269/1000 = 0.2690 -> 234.3027Ly
    hlh hhh hll / lll llh lhh     = 131/500 = 0.2620 -> 228.2056Ly

While the one with flipped bits (those between *s):

Code:
    lhh hhl lhl / hhl lll lhl hh*l* = 269/1001 = 0.2687 -> 234.0687Ly
    hlh hhh hll / lll llh lh*l*     = 131/501 = 0.2615 -> 227.7501Ly
hhl hhh lll hll / lll llh lhh     = 571/500 = 1.1420 -> 994.6979Ly

Apparently, Thargoids typing problems affect prominently the LSB of the divisors. I'm starting to wonder if thargoids have 3 fingers in each hand, use a binary count system with said hands, and they placed an old tharg lady with a missing first finger in the message typing dept.

Her middle digit became infected with mycoid & had to be removed. :rolleyes:

Unless, it was related to... probing.....:eek:

Could someone post here Eagle Eye 5 message? Got low quality audio, not sure about some letters and I dont want to go there again, thx :)

I thought the code - numbers and letters from NATO alphabet - before decoding, thanks :)

EDIT: ok, it is done, reverse decoding [haha]

Quick question, now we have this system for identifying the location of the next weeks Thargoid attack is anyone interested in maintaining a thread to track this - somewhere that people can go to report new findings and find out which systems need defending? Unless I've missed it I'd have thought the forums would be screaming out for this?

Technically this thread here:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/417817-Thargoid-Attacks-System-Support-Status

is doing that job at least for this week. Probably needs a better name to be more obvious.

I was kind of expecting someone else to come up with a better idea :)

Anyhoo, does anyone know what time the 6 Eagle Eye unregistered comms beacons broadcast each hour?

I parked at Eagle Eye 1 and it went off at 13:58 game time, so I assume it's 58 minutes past the hour every hour.

Anyone actually recorded what time these suckers all fire?

Yup - it's in the codex. EE1: :00, EE2, :10, EE3: :20, EE4: :30, EE5 ... you can guess. Is your clock set right? WHen I compare to in-game time it's always been to the second (though if you miss the start it doesn't seem to play, which is sad).

Edit: That's from visiting all 6 each week for the last 3 weeks...

Ta. I couldn't find it in the codex when I looked, though now I've looked again and found it. My clock may be wrong on my gaming PC but I can factor that in.

I thought this week I could run an entire end to end sequence rather than waiting for someone to tell me what the comms beacons say :) Might start at Eagle Eye 3 as the servers are usually back up by 20 past.

I approve of this post :) It's quite a challenge to get them all in the hour, especially if you try posting on the forums while doing it..

Oh I'm just planning to get one, go to the site, translate the link messages and visit the new destinations. Gotta leave some fun for others :)

Hope the Thargoids can type this week.
