Go see it.

The original is for me the single best artwork from the other half of the XX century. Was apprehensive as hell while walking into BR 2049 "will they tarnish the original"? No, they did it right. Different but yet the same sensibility.

The op posted a swathe of whining threads saying, and I quote, "Maybe the FDev's will start listening to their playerbase, and stop listening to the 500 or so 'Fanboys' who log in everyday and < lets just remove that comment > say 'everything is great'.".

According to him, enjoying this game makes us unworthy of being part of the "playerbase" and he thinks that the game should suit him in the specific way he imagines the game to be, and he won't shut up about him, insulting those that disagree with him.
Those threads are ban material if you ask me, and certainly deserve the tone of the replies he's getting.

And mine's a troll post? 2/10, try harder.

Hmm, yea. I mean, the new movie is not of equal quality to the old one. Where the old one asked many questions to the audience, the new one answered most of its own questions. It's thus a bit more mainstream and thus falls short of the old one here.

But despite of that, it treats the original movie and characters with respect and stays true to them. It might not be such a masterpiece as the first one, but it's a good movie by itself and does so without conflicting with the first one.

The whole new Star Wars franchise could learn a lot from it, but why should they, as long as people keep running to the cinema and drowning them in money?

Nothing can equal quality of the old one. But this one's also a thinking man's movie with a deep, massive respect for the old one. That's all I wanted.

I can relate, OP.

Sometimes i tell myself "oh ! let's do x or y things today in Elite", then i remember that i'll have to spend a good 30 min to jump -> getting the good ship -> getting the proper outfit and then only i'll be able to do what i want to do.

So in the end, i just play something else

Edit - I should point out that I did log in recently to help out that guy with Cancer due to those griefers but I was way too far away to get there in time which was a month or 2 ago. But that was only for a few hours of gameplay.

You should re-read my post at no point did I mention anything you said being wrong or incorrect. If that is an able demonstration of your observational ability, actual game time might be less than 30 hours [haha]

I'm beginning to think that myself... Perhaps when you here "Friendship Drive" it's a subliminal message to stay happy playing the game!

I have to be in the right mood to play ED. When I’m not after excitement but more sort of just plodding along and enjoying the graphics.

This. That's the exact process I think most people go through - work out how much your life is going to suck before you get to the fun stuff. Then figure out it's not worth it and go find something else to do with their time.

30 hours and have seen everything, a very credible base to produce expert opinions from. I bet you’ve spent more time logged into the forums of the game than the actual game as well
